I always play mini, sometimes play the big one, rarely click on midi, but I’ve never noticed it not being there. It’s there for me today and I just completed it.

I always see it. I play through a browser rather than the app if that makes a difference.

I use the NYT app, and I've never see "The Midi"

The Midi is a puzzle that's in between the 2 others size-wise, and is themed with a title like the Sunday puzzle....when I can find it. I play on line on my laptop and am a subscriber.

Interesting! I can see it if I go to the website on my computer, but not if I go to the NYTimes app on my phone. I'll have to try it out.

I sent an email to the NYT about the issue, and the other one I have with Letter Boxed. If I look at yesterday's answer, I have to reload the page. Otherwise, whatever I type, it just pops up with yesterday's answer again.

This morning I went to the page, saw the puzzle and completed it. I went back and the banner disappeared. So I reloaded it, clicked the banner and got the error message. I then retyped the url and it was there with my solution. Go figure.

I'm also a subscriber and do them on my laptop, mainly for the puzzles, once they stopped making my favorites available for free. I only do the Mini crossword though I can see the Midi and the big one. I used to do Pips but it made me a little crazy sometimes so I have stopped doing that one. :)

Thanks for telling me about the Midi - I'm now doing it on the NYT website (not app) and I enjoy it.

Clear the browser's cookies and browsing history/cached pages and that should fix the problem.

If not, try a different browser.

I contacted the NYT and got a reply that said, in part, this:

"Midi:

We are aware of an issue where users are not seeing the Midi in the home tab, despite being on the latest version of the app. If you are on version 6.15.0, please force close and relaunch the app. This should trigger the Midi to appear on the Home tab as expected."

Annie, I wanted to say, too, thanks for this plug for Midi. I played yesterday and like FOAS, I was able to finish it. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Crosswords is not my strong suit by far so I was always playing the Mini. It's still fun but wow those blocks look enormous now. lol Nice to have a new game to play.
