Hahaha! It never ends!

too funny! i have days like that although not quite as intense. for me, it seems that much of the time is spent walking into a room, standing there looking around wondering what i was about to do. so, not having the epiphany i was hoping for, i walk back out, go to a different room, then remember what i went into the first room for and go back to complete the task before i forget AGAIN.

my back bedroom is my crushing ruination to any semblance of order and getting something done quickly every time i walk in there. it's a room full of storage totes and big chewy boxes that bags of dog food come in and i repurpose to being junque (fancy junk) collectors. there is one box in that room that contains various power strips i used to use for my reef aquarium that was dismantled long ago. i needed one of those recently so i started going through boxes. why i don't label these boxes is beyond me, it isn't like i'm going to actually remember what's IN them! before i know it, 2 hours have flown by, i have a mess of lidless boxes tossed hither and yon and my frustration is at peak level.

i walk out, close the door and in my most convincing scarlett o'hara voice, tell myself "i'll worry about that...tomorrow!"

Amy, you really get a lot done!! I admire your stick-to-it-tiveness!!! I get distracted easily too but don't get even an iota done of what you covered!!!

My husband commented this AM that unloading the dishwasher is the least satisfying task because you just have to load it again with dirty dishes. I like the cycle of it all because for a brief period of time there is a clean and empty sink and countertop.

Nina, both my spare bedrooms can get out of control. One of them does have a bedroom suite and a tv. SO will sometime retreat there to watch his dumb man shows and movies when I am trying to sleep in our room during the day if he is home. However, that room also houses my holiday attire, which includes not only clothes but shoes, hats and other accesories. The closet is overfilled, and I have a clothes rack that I use to house the "current" or at least the next holiday seasons clothes. The hats and shoes are stacked in totes, and the earrings are in large jewelry boxes. During non-holiday times, I can keep it rather neat, though still stacked everywhere. But right now its a mess of green and bunny ears. It gets messy because i have a hard time deciding on a full outfit everyday during such times, and the rejected items gets strewn about to be dealt with or chosen later. Today I finally decided, white shamrock shirt, black shamrock overalls, shamrock shoes, sparkly green captains hat, shamrock shake earrings, green heart sunglasses. It also tends to get messy because i reuse some stuff over multiple holidays. Like all my green shoes that I wear this month will be used in both July and December for Christmas, paired with a red shoe of the same design of course, cant just wear either red OR green for Christmas. That's too dull.

My other spare bedroom is storage/workout room. It houses my treadmill and weight machine, all our various bedding in totes, my holiday dishes and decor and who knows what else. Also, My SO has in issue with throwing things away that he thinks might me useful one day, and unfortunately, the HUGE boxes my weight machine came in fell into that category, and therefore they live in that room too, and it drives me insane. I have learned to ignore it when I am working out. The doors to both rooms stay closed.

I am happy when I can say today wasn't a negative work day. I dont end the day with more to do than when I woke up.

@ladypat1, that describes my yesterday.

My mission yesterday was to divide some daylilies for a friend. Once i finally got started, after clearing out some accumulated catalogs, filling the bird feeders, watering my seedlings, sorting through my fertilizers, bringing some order to my garden workbench, treating an ant bed, gathering empty pots and soil to transplant the DL babies, finding some tags to use for them, I finally started digging. Then I remembered I wanted to move one small clump so I dug that, put it where I wanted it after digging up another DL, and divided the one I dug and potted the extras. I did divide a few others but it was so windy I quit. So I still haven’t finished.

Neverending indeed - the struggle is real!

FWIW, I learned that walking through a doorway is a good way to forget what you were going to do, so I try to avoid doing that - when I remember 😄

Amy, I laughed out loud at your last paragraph!

My DH says that if you forget because you walked through a doorway, you should walk back through it backwards, so you'll remember. 😄

@bpath, I agree Re the physical book. I still have the one i bought in 1999 I think to read to the grands, right after the first one was born. We’ve read the print off that one and the followup, ’If you Give a Pig a Pancake’. @wintercat_gw, see photo below for an example of the art in the books.

I must mention another favorite for a book a little longer. It was one of our grand girls’ favorites, ’Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse’. I have given these books as gifts many times.
