I’m dense angelaid. Can you explain that one for me, please?

Donna, to me the response could also be, ”I don’t look good, period, but I’m darn funny.” Not exactly the same, but it reminds me of a dumb/silly/weird comment getting a ”you’re pretty” response…maybe?

I think 'funny' here is like the set up pitch to a guy about the girl who may be homely, but "She has a great personality".

Have not seen Annie today. May 10. Tried to start a thread twiceasking about her but it won’t show up. Did she say she would be away or should we be worried?

I tried posting queries twice - one last night and one this afternoon - and they both disappeared!

Stacey, same happened to me! Whats going on?

Evidently no one can start a thread today, just comment. Im sure thats whats happening to Annie, too.

No I tried twice to start my usual threads but the system is failing me. Probably won't get fixed now before Monday....

With regards to the pictures or the real life appearance, it may be similar to the saying "actions speak louder than words", in this situation being, my action of being funny speaks louder than my unimpressive appearance, whether in actuality or as portrayed in flat pictures.

I tried starting the Smile thread AND the Show me thread. Then PM'D Jasdip...she can't do it either...

@nicole, I tried to start both, too, and they aren't showing up.

I also noticed threads with new comments aren’t being moved to the top… at least for me.

I tried and still can't start a new thread so I'll say it here:

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers out there! Thanks for making all of us possible! We wouldn't be here without you!

Lettersatoz and I tried to start FNM threads, and those disappeared also.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I guess they have this in Germany also.

One of my regrets is that I had a Mom for only a few short years. Dad, Richard/ Dick was born in 1901, Mom, Minnie in 1903, married in 1925, they took over family farm shortly after. Grandpa Wes and grandma Annie moved in with her sister Pat and brother George who'd had polio that her sister cared for in their small white brick home in Lambeth, a village nearby. Aunt Pat had neither married nor had regular employment, helping various families with occasional work as called upon, so it must have been a difficult life. It was a small house, so they must have been rather tightly packed when grandpa and grandma joined them!

One of grandma's sisters, Aunt Lizzie and her husband had a farm on the edge of the village, next to Aunt Pat's home.

Two doors away on the other side lived Aunt Min, a widow, from whose family Grandpa Wes had bought the farm where we lived, in 1917, eight years before dad and mom married. For several years grandma and three of her sisters lived in three houses with only one house between them in the village - right near where I later went to high school.

I, eldest child, was born in 1929, youngest of three sons, the third in late spring of 1934.

Late in 1934 mental complications in mom's life had her taken to psych hosp - I was a few months short of 6.

She had some sadness, as she lost her father I think before I was born but if not shortly after, as I don't remember him. Her mom lived in a big old white brick house on a road just about three miles long on the other side of village from our farm - the road was later named Pack Road, mom's family's name.

My youngest brother lived from babyhood with mom's brother's family for a number of years.

When dad went to see mom in hospital, sometimes we went too - but we kids stayed in the car.

Mom's dad had died not many years after her marriage and she developed a strong affection for dad's father. He died shortly after she went to psych hospital, so that was an added stress.

Grandma came to live with us.

Dad had a large farm and needed hired help even in the depression years - the "Dirty Thirties".

After mom got sick, it was usually a married couple, with the wife being housekeeper, with grandma, in her 80s, with bent back, till pregnancy intervened.

In World War II, when the husband of a former helping family joined the forces, his wife and young daughter came to live with us.

Mom died in 1942 - at just under 40. I think it was of tuberculosis (contracted when she was in psych. hospital).

She was pretty well gone from my life when I was not quite 6.

I tried my 2 threads again this a.m. and so far, no go.

I trust someone has reached out to them to let them know, yes???

Well, JAN on Design Dilemma is OUTRAGED that SHE can't post, lol, because she is used to posting non stop. So she's blasted them on all their social media platforms. A bit ungrateful for the free platform they provide. So they are aware. And we'll all be lucky if they don't just chuck it all in the free forums with attitudes like hers.

I sent one in yesterday, but did not get an email back.

I too see that we can only comment on existing threads, but it doesn't change the order on the page.

Jasdip, the threads are not sorting by time. New posts are not posting. We can can comment on existing threads. I have made a new post and I can see it, but it does not show up. This is across every thread, no matter if you are in Houzz or Garden Web.

Yes I know that. I said we can only comment on existing threads. But new comments don't come to the top.

    Yes, I said that

Did anyone besides ME log a ticket with HOUZZ?

They seem to know NOTHING about a problem posting NEW threads.

    Kind of like Gardenweb today.

    Another possible explanation:

Did anyone post a ticket with HOUZZ?

Can anyone post a link to "ticket"? I do not see it anywhere, but then I am using Gardenweb instead of Houzz.

I found this, but it does not seem to help.

Nope...its' GONE....and it wouldn't cross post to Decorating Conversations.

Look at the bottom of the page. It says "GET HELP...then CONTACT".....please post a houzz PROBLEM ticket....

    THANK YOU!
