I too agree with GTO. It was something else! My friend got one for graduation in 66 and a bunch of us went to the beach the day after graduation in it and another car. We were pretty ’hot’, lol!

My DH says Chrysler 300-C. Our parents had ’muscle’ cars before we boomers did.

Well, I quietly won. I was going to say division of chores. I didn’t cuz I thought ,,,, maybe it’s just me. But I have to ask, remind remind remind, beg, show and say how peeved I’m growing. Then I have towait, remind, threaten a lawsuit.—Then go full b_____.

    Song, litle GTO.

    Columbo’s car

    Then go full

Just my two cents. Not arguing, not judging, just observation based on my own experiences which eventually led me not to beg/wheedle, which was training person to ignore everything until 'full' was reached.

I do go full. He WAY lacks motivation except in a narrow slice of life —nerdy techy stuff, world chaos issues, or doing things he wants to do — like roast a chicken. He will shop and run errands, but not see floor tiles that pose a trip hazard, even when I point out. (Guess I will just have to clean up the house enough for a flooring contractor to come by and replace the floor.$

There could be a rotting dead rhino on the kitchen floor, rain coming through the roof, trip hazards. He is oblivious. I am at a loss — lazy? hostility? dementia, neurodivergence? Immaturity? Jerk? Passive-aggressive? Child? Cog decline? AH? He seems numb. Obtuse. dense.

I’ve tried operant conditioning, training after trying to explain, blah. blah. Sounds mean or extreme, but when he continues to leave smelly clothes in the first floor bathroom and after ample warning, I toss them out the window. He leaves empty PB jars in sink (for a virtual maid service?), I put them on his desk.

Lotsa Bird poop over the cars? I tell him I will get it washed and detailed $$. It is exhausting. I am in too much pain, fatigue, too old to pick up and move, but then again.

    He needs a neuro-cognitive exam?

PS He’s the one who will not do any work towards moving from this large house. So, he can work, earn more $, pay for labor, have place rot away, or chop chop. He doesn‘t get started until 1 PM or 2 PM. SLOW.

When is the last time he had an in depth annual medical exam? You could wear yourself out easily and will be for naught if the issue is some medical issue that is not apparent.

Had a physical in the past year.Yearly w 6 mo follow up.

Has he seen a gerontologist? They do a more in-depth exam with an eye toward the process of aging and the impact things like medication can have. Or it might be depression which can go undiagnosed.

IAC, I'll say Mustang or Camaro, and if we're going with songs, 409.

We didn't have specific chores, but we did what we enjoyed. He loved vacuuming, and since I did the majority of the cooking he did the clearing and washing up. He also made the bed every morning, and he loved changing it, and Roxie (cat) would help him. I can't imagine doing absolutely everything while the spouse did nothing, if little. One thing that I hate to do now is washing windows, they're heavy to remove and lift in. And leaning out to squeegie the windows. lol. But they're cleaner than when I started.

Be careful what you wish for. I used to do everything...now he's doing ALL the laundry and I can't find my clothes! 😂

    ^^^ nicole! hahahaha

He does work, but selectively and he doesn’t always follow through. Or get started.

He is sweet and kind in so many ways. There are some distinct oddities. Whatever is going on with him is subtle. Not to me. Maybe he’s angry with me and doesn’t feel he can say so. I have asked him to talk with me about that. He then will sometimes bring up old issues he’s frustrated about, so that’s good. But I cannot do anything about that, and he doesn’t seem to grasp why I couldn’t do such and such.

I am always scratching my head, trying to understand him or motivated him. Sometimes, it seems that he has some version of oppositional or defiant personality. I used to tell him that I think he came ”pre-loaded” or pre-cocked, already a bit on the defensive.
