I've done that too, believe me, lol, but I just can't see sitting in a room with blue on one side and orange on the other, well, maybe in a rec room, but not a kitchen/family/dining area IMO, plus I think it would look awful where the two colors would inevitably have to meet. BTW, for anyone reading this thread, the color on the website doesn't look a thing like it does in person painted on a wall. It looks kind of clay-brown on the site, but it's actually a warm but bright orange/red. I really didn't want a boring neutral all over the living space, but I guess that's what I'll need to do because I really love the Medit. Sun color.

Window treatment for sure! A console & a seating bench for entranceway. May be a small partition to separate view of dining for strangers from entrance door. A conversation, reading area maybe with comfortable seating. Cozy rug underneath! A pendant above dining for that dinner ambience... A plant or two to brighten up the space. It will all fall in place, one thing at a time. Eventually you can add some wall art, DIY or from your travels or antique markets..

So got the new rug and it’s beautiful but a little lighter than I thought it would be... granted my current wheat colored sofa and chair are not helping things... my new sofa and chair will be a linen color Like the tufted chair I have in the pic... even so afraid it doesn’t go with the red/orange tone of my fireplace... thoughts??

You have accent lighting for the wall above the sideboard. You determine if buffet lights might be needed AFTER you place all the family photographs. I might consider a floor lamp in the corner of the room to brighten the area. What will a mirror over the fireplace reflect? If it's nothing interesting, you're better with a canvas over the fireplace as there is so little color in the room.
