Any hope for my lawn?
Comments (17)"Morpheuspa you have the patience of a saint." No. No I don't. I have the patience of a saint when being treated pleasantly. Get snippy or throw insults and I have the patience of a two-year-old waiting for ice cream. :-) But that's not in any danger of happening here, and why I'm never, ever in any field that requires much customer service... That would be per application, so 10 pounds of 10-10-10 per thousand square feet on Memorial Day. And again 10 pounds of 10-10-10 per thousand square feet, on Labor Day. And so on. Or you can use 5 pounds of 20-20-20 per thousand square feet instead. Or, as David noted above, my tepid note of using an organic. So bag rate (or even half again above bag rate) of Milorganite for each application--except the November app where it's too cold for Milorganite to work properly. In your case, I am more tepid this year because of the minor P and K shortages on your test and wouldn't mind a few shots of that going down yet. This gets really complicated if you mix the two (and I do this frequently, particularly this year). I won't go into it unless you're interested. And yep, our watering systems always tend to lay down less water than we think they do. :-) Mine need three full hours to drop an inch of water. That's actually a good thing as it assures that the soil has ample time to absorb it without any runoff or flooding, even in the worst conditions where the soil may be refusing to damp down initially....See MoreFlameThrower Chipotle Coleus, any hope? HELP!
Comments (0)Hi All - I "rescued" this Coleus plant from my friend's apartment hoping I can bring it back to life. The healthy photo (his place) was just in late August, and the one in the window is today. His place doesn't get as much light as mine and he did have it up quite high; weather/light both changing. The plant does show some signs of new growth but I'm not sure giving it so much sudden light (3-4 hours direct sun) is a good thing? a moister meter shows it's very wet but don't think re-potting is an option since the branches extend so wide (3-4 feet) and are super fragile, I broke a few just moving it here. Should I try H2O2 or let it dry completely first? Help!! :)...See MoreAny hope left? Dried out Lady Emma Hamilton
Comments (7)Where in zone 9 do you garden (for example… Las Vegas, Houston, many cities in California… ) ? In warm /hot climates, generally, the graft should be above the soil line… The bark appears to have been placed right up against the rose… you may want to avoid that… if you live in a hot Summer climate, new plants need to be watered more regularly, as compared to established plants with a more developed root system. For now, I would suggest checking the soil regularly and watering to ensure the rose does not dry out again… wait and see…. protect from intense sun and heat if you garden in a hot climate....See Moreis there any hope for the curb appeal on this one?
Comments (12)@bigdougsdesign - wow something that simple makes a huge difference and maybe wouldn't even break the bank! @K-L, I'd love love to be in a one story! I'm have a tough time visualizing a front pouch, but I do love the idea of that. Clearly, I can't visualize things. That's why I though there was no hope....See MoreRelated Professionals
