511 mix appropriate for feijoa?

I just bought my first feijoa and have been surprised by how quickly it drinks and how frequently it needs to be watered. I was planning to up pot it into a 10 gallon container with 511 mix within the next few days, but after reading a few comment threads with people similarly observing how much this tree drinks, I'm wondering if it's a good idea, given that plants already generally need more frequent watering when in 511. I'm just concerned that it might be harder to keep up with the tree's water needs and I wouldn't want to risk the tree dying or being severely set back because of this. It's already lost a lot of its leaves in the nursery pot it came in, apparently just because it has needed more water than I've been giving it. Any thoughts on this? Is anyone currently growing a feijoa in 511 and if so what has your experience been? And if there is an alternative mix more suitable for feijoas, what would it be?
