Counter top help -- Oak with stainless/black appliances
Comments (3)Look for Buehl's thread "new to GW? Help posting pictures.." There are detailed instructions in that post. It is usually on page 1, sometimes it slips down before being bumped. Essentially, get yourself a photobucket acount set up, upload your photos, and then you will click on the html code, copy and paste it into your message here. When you do the Preview Message, you will see the photo. But look at that post for better details. As far as your kitchen, my friend is doing exactly what you are talking about. She chose Giallo Ornamental for her counters. She though about black too, but I cautioned her that it might look too dark for her space. Her counters currently (well, before they were ripped out) are a light formica. So, to make the drastic change I think would have darkened the space. The colors in the GO really worked nicely with the black appliances, the oak, and the gray in it worked with the stainless faucet and sink. Don't worry about your tile backsplash yet, find the counters first. Hope this helps you. Here is a link that might be useful: New to the forum thread...See MoreCounter top help
Comments (15)Love, love, love that slab. Your kitchen looks great so far! I don't mind mixing cool and warm colors, but i'm looking at your floor which looks like a warm neutral. Am i seeing blue in the slab too or just grey? it's hard to tell on my monitor. Anyway, i'm thinking if you want a "cool" kitchen, then use a cool color for walls and BS with that quartzite. If you don't mind mixing, then pull out the warm tone from the counter to compliment the floors. I think Bookworm's suggestion of looking at Romy's silver crackle BS is a great idea!...See MoreBathroom counter top help
Comments (3)Personally I don't like to mix metals that much if there is big contrast-- using a copper sink in a small room where you have a nickle shower enclosure would seem to highlight the differences in color of metals no matter what tile you are using... If you want a metal sink would you consider a hammered stainless or pewter metal sink?...See Morecounter tops help
Comments (1)Don’t mix stones. Nix the overdone waterfall. And keep everything one color....See MoreRelated Professionals
