Comments (18)Kids are home this week. So am I. ;o) I subbed the last 12 school days in a row before break. And the house looked like it! We did get a lot done yesterday, though. Today DD had gymnastics practice and I picked up/dropped off a teammate. So, time-wise, that running around was the biggest chunk of my day, with no real results to show for it. In between, I went to BJs wholesale club to stock up on some regular stuff. Took it home, put it away, made the boys lunch. Rotated laundry. Went back for the girls at the gym, watched for an hour (it's a 3-1/2 hour practice). I have also read 2 lessons of my online class (I'm behind, I have 4 more to go today to be caught up). Just checking in here before I leave the computer for now. I'll go by the laundry room and rotate more laundry, then down to the kitchen to load dishwasher and start dinner (I don't know what yet). The boys' practices are cancelled today because it went and SNOWED! OK, just flurries, but it's cold and wet... this is supposed to be SPRING break! I am also going to make some afternoon coffee....See MoreWhat are you serving up this Cinco De Mayo? Taco Tuesday?
Comments (23)My SIL had Cinco de Mayo dinner for about 12 last night + one three year old who was very social and fun - daughter of a younger couple they had just met who had moved into the neighborhood. Stick on moustaches and straw sombreros. A warm bean dip, pico de gallo, salsa, chips. She served her mock chicken enchilada casserole (that I find acceptable but not wonderful). Carne asada (Costco's pre-marinated) with a make your own fajita bar, rice, refried beans. A blackberry dessert (mine), margaritas. I really enjoy Hispanic foods, this was not the best. But lots of fun, lots of laughing so all in all a good evening....See MoreWhat are you doing Monday or Tuesday 82724
Comments (10)Yes, we all are complaining about our gardens and the weather……☺️ I think every August is like this. Hostas are in decline, bug damage has taken its toll, lack of rain and lack of energy! Well that’s the garden cycle it seems, for hostas anyway. My Liberty looked so burned in the sun bed that I had Bert move it for me out front where it will get sun and shade. I may have to move others or protect them with nearby taller plants. It seems my sun bed is a lot of sun. The only hostas that aren’t fried are El Niño, High Society, Nigrescens, Sting and Snow Mouse. Hanky Panky doesn’t look too bad. Gabriel’s Wing needs a new location because the small butterfly bush is just covering it up. Lots of work, and no motivation. Still living without a main bathroom vanity, cabinet and sink……long story but the guy making the vanity for us has suffered three deaths in his close family in rather quick succession and we have no idea what’s going on at this point. Still waiting to post when everything is done.✔️ debra...See MoreRelated Professionals
