Here is how to post a Design Dilemma to get the best results. (Post only one thread on same Dilemma. You can add photos to original thread.) You need to show the whole space—all four sides of an entire space—even if it’s about one specific Dilemma. Commenters need to see doorways, windows, closets, finishes throughout the space to make informed suggestions. In open spaces, Commentors need to see adjacent spaces like living, dining, family room areas that adjoin a kitchen. This is so finishes like cabinetry, paint, and flooring harmonize in the while space.

State right at the beginning what the room will be used for and who will use it. State the non-negotiables at the beginning, what has to be kept. Give some idea of the budget. And provide approximate measurements

Keep in mind that you're inviting some design pros and people with a design eye into your home via photos. If they walked into your actual space, they would take in all of it: all four sides, doorways, floors, windows, ceiling, built-in fixtures, lighting, trim--the "givens"--then the features that can be changed--furnishings, paint, art, rugs, decor items, etc. It's all one first impression. Same thing with photos. That's why it's important to provide well lit photos of the entire space, taken from all sides of a room regardless of the size of your problem.

Your style can be interpreted different ways. Also without context we don't know what to suggest.

You say you want a touch of "luxe"! Your reception area doesn't reflect that look so I've done a few adjustments. In some pictures the walls look dark and in others they look white - they should be a warm white. You don't show a picture showing both seating areas in the same picture, they look a bit disjointed so I've treated one side with a rug, the other where people walk into the room to the reception desk there is no rug. I suggest a brass sign with your company name/logo on the brick wall and a large canvas on the wall in the area with the chairs. Instead of shelves with products on the wall I would find glass cabinets. Find a planter on legs to make your plant look higher, a brass floor lamp in the corner and move the sofa away from the wall with a small brass side table on the other side.. With the chair grouping, a large round coffee table.

Lisdev thanks so much for your time. This is a medspa. My first biz venture, later in life, and pride and joy. I designed it myself incorporating a bit of rustic ..but it obvsly didnt turn out “luxe” at all. :(

1. Walls are Shoji White. To me they are too stark. The glass faces west. The floors are dark grey concrete LVT but the pattern was misplaced so it looks erratic rather than monolithic.

2. north side seating (chairs)
   —I wanted an open area for clients to browse freely….hence the more open seating config. which also avoids people sitting across from each other which is Uncomfortable.

3. east wall-display—the products have to be touchable and teatable skincare products.. so i avoided glass and doors. Also i dont want to dust glass cases everyday.

4. south wall-brick (veneer)/sign— wondering now if i should paint that brick a different color to make it go. That wd make me a little sad because i love that wall and use it as my signature /backdrop in marketing as it is unusual for a medspa.

I tried letters on that brick. Nothing in gold colors shows up and white looks off. Also nothing can be hung on the brick veneer without risking damage/cracking.. per the sign contractor. Is a Suspension sign with cables reasonable?

5. The reception desk is a fill-in. Was going to post separately abt that. I wanted a more open type desk but i think the higher desks are the gold standard so i will just get that. 👍

BeverlyFLA hello! I remember you!!! :) Thanks for taking a look! I didnt know carpet tilea came in such cool colors and NOT square. The chairs are dark green and black so that may change yr suggestion…?

Color— i have a very large canvas (a few) to paint… so was looking for color motivation. I love dark greenwith fuschia and bright coral and sexy black and matte gold..but not sure how to fit those colors here…

If you hang a sign from the ceiling something like below would stand out against the brick wall. Black lettering on it's own of black lettering on white like below.

As for the seating area, the esthetic/derma clinic I go to has seating facing each other and I never felt it being uncomfortable.

Is the white and black the color qe are going with then for the reception desk?

Maybe the biz name shd be on the front of the desk. Then i can do whatever i like. Gold thick letters on black or gold on white or…?

Remember the sets of velvet chairs are green and black, couch is black. So still need that rug. 😣

Can I make a rug suggestion that is jute? It’s black. And I don’t think it’s giving jute vibes… I think it could work really well in the space.

More plants....real plants and real trees for the whole front of the windows. I don't know what a medspa is but plants give a healing vibe.

Light filtered through the leaves will soften the space and give clients privacy from the sidewalk so use varieties that are tall enough.

Move the chairs out a few feet to make room for them.
