Stainless Steel mini-brick backsplash
Comments (7)Martha- haha...I know. Hot is completely the appropriate word!! And somehow it works with the more simple white cabinetry in the photo and traditional faucets. Another place I've seen it...not sure how many of you watch The Hills on MTV. But their kitchen also has the stainless steel backsplash (could only catch a glimpse of it though). The Hills is very trendy, so perhaps a it's a new thing!...See MoreYour opinion on Tin / Steel panel kitchen backsplashes? PICS
Comments (15)I think they are beautiful. I considered it in my old house, but ended up using leftover tile instead since it was "free." Cost varies greatly. I've seen real tin panels and their price ranges from $15-30/panel depending on the finish; copper patina was most expensive. The fake ones, which look pretty darn good IMHO, are usually less about $8-15/panel if you shop around. Another option is embossed wallpaper that you can paint, which is very inexpensive....See MoreLimestone Backsplash Issue
Comments (5)So sorry you are going throught this. I would say leave it, if it is only noticeable to you and only when the light shines on them in a certain way. This is why this stone has fallen out of favor. A friend of mine discouraged me because she had a few friends who have had problems. Theirs were staining around the sink area. Make pease with it and just enjoy the look of it. You are already doing way to much prevention as it is. At some point in the future you can change it out for a more bullet proof backsplash....See MoreKitchen backsplash accent piece made from flashing?
Comments (0)I really like subway tile, and I really like tin backsplash too. I almost used a few of those thermoplastic stick-on faux tin pieces behind the stove, but came to my senses. We're putting subway tiles under all the cabinets. But I want an accent behind the stove, and haven't found any decorative tin panels that are quite right. We're fairly crafty, and I was wondering if it's possible to create our own embossed metal panel out of a wide sheet of aluminum house flashing. I'd like a design featuring a tree and rising sun. Is it a "thing" to use flashing for this purpose?...See MoreRelated Professionals
