Sad but the fact is even if the company stayed the same every dye lot of wallpaper changes so you still would not have a match.

Folks - this has NOTHING TO DO WITH DYE LOTS.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. But I would have taken pause at ordering wallpaper to match 3 year old wallpaper. You could have requested a sample from the current dyelot to approve before placing the order.

When ordering more of something like fabric/wallpaper, you definitely need to order a CFA (cutting for approval) first. In your case, it would definitely have saved you from ordering wallpaper you don't want to use.

How much do you have? I'm still searching for something for my powder room and always liked this paper. I've been meaning to order a sample, but have been finishing a guest bedroom first.

I just ordered and received a Schumacher linen for some curtains. My large sample swatch is around 12 years old! I wasn't worried about the current dye lots as the fabric has lots of colors, but when you compare the new fabric to the olds sample, you can definitely tell that the linen is just slightly lighter, like it was woven with a slightly thinner thread. Not an issue as I am using them for drapes. I did notice that they also came out with a performance version for upholstery, which allowed them to lighten the weave of the version for drapes or pillows. They lowered their production cost, but certainly didn't lower the retail price!

The pattern number and the description are still accurate. So, It has a lot to do with dye lot. Always get a cutting before ordering fabric and wallpapers.

BTW the Kravet take over was in 2011. So, when you bought your wallpaper it was Kravet.

I ordered a sample piece of that wallpaper a few months ago, and I loved the reflective finish. It's so gorgeous I wanted to frame it. Bummer that it's chalky now.

Yikes if they are still sending out samples of the older paper when you can't get it anymore!

Lantern Visual, Kravet isn't at fault . Every bolt of paper or fabric has a run number that identifies the product as to when it was printed. That is what is important when matching a previous order.

Marvin Gardens, look back on this recent order. Did you include the run number on your order?

Try ebay. You may find the paper there with the run number which matches your first purchase.

I put Bird and Thistle in a clients guest bed last year, green colorway. There was a match with shams and duvet on the bed, with some accents in green velvet, silk . etc.

The room LOOKS absolutely lovely ( don't have a pic, was long distance ) but.................I do notice a diminishing quality in the fabric match.

She, nor the paper hanger had any issue with face of paper, drop shipped to her.....nothing to compare with in place.

I've long ago learned my lesson. Cutting for approval on any and everything. Even that isn't guarantee against flaws.

Saddest truth? The quality of any and every single thing is diminished. I haunt consignment and Chairish....I receive a brand NEW Hickory Chair custom sofa and compare to earlier received? Not the same. No bounce in the front of frame. Less "return" in their standard spring down cushioning. Frankly, I am glad to be on the back end of a 33 yr business.

I shoved a beautiful short sofa, Pearson, tufted back, curved, unused,! down a clients tonsils last week. In a local consignment......perfect everything including linen cover for 1699.00, and didn't make a dime on it.

I'm going back to also push a lovely long Century console, and a gorgeous glass door tall cabinet down that throat of hers. All in/three pieces? 4497.00 and three/four times the quality of anything I can source brand new for double or triple the individual pieces.

Call it Designer Tragedies and how NOT to make money......while delivering true quality.

I am not really saying the finish is acceptable but the dyelots change too that is why you always order enough at one time. I agree with Jan almost everything you once loved for the quaility has now been altered or farmed out and not the same . I am sad for you since thta wallpaper in the original is trully lovely but for sure what you got is not the same/
