Thanks fot the ideas and pics. Now that I know about remote control extenders (thanks, Natal) I may have more options. I plan to hit a couple of antique shops this weekend to see what I see. The real issue is the width of the space (meaning how wide the console/whatever can be). Ideally it would be around 48" so while I like the idea of a sideboard type of piece, most will be too big. OTOH, I did find a regular ol' console at Room & Board that I like a lot, so I could always go that route. Still holding out for a while to see if I find something cool, though!

I really like it, especially with your very 'airy' plant. All 3 objects give one the feeling of 'floating'. Like magic! It makes the oversized electronic, look like it's in a home setting. Very nicely done. Couldn't be any nicer. Now, look for all those with the giant 'entertainment with a bridge' armoires or wall shelving be putting them up on resale websites, so they can lighten the load in their tv rooms... LOL

I have been browsing (it's my occupation lol) a lot and you know how that goes where there's always the next and the next and then I forget what I found. Thanks Bunny--- I started out ruling out the black and looking for wood, but I was concerned that the close but no cigar thing might apply, The wood is also of course hard to read sometimes in photos online so black is black and also there is expresso ? Just for starters I still cannot quite figure out if I just want a plain thing or a bit more. I figure I will just link a few and see what feedback I get because at this point I just can't think straight. for example one- LAMANTIA TV STAND this one might be too large? it is 26 high 59 wide 18 deep (also comes in light cherry) two- BRISTOL 26 high 49 wide by 19 deep threePOULSON 25 high by 53 wide by 16 deep thinking that the suggestion for a slightly taller one would be good but these are still lower. This side of couch: Consider how a lamp would help and you won’t be limited to a tall/narrow table (which won’t look good) or with something too bulky that will be in the way. See below how ”lower” can work when balanced with a tall lamp. With your couch’s style, you need to be considering visual weight and balance. It would really help to see both sides from farther back.
