Best use of 8” by fridge

I have about eight inches of unused space next to my refrigerator, in the drywalled fridge nook. Specifically, the space is 8.5” W x 30” D x over head H.

I’m going to build something to use the space, and am interested in what you have found useful.

I can use heavy-duty full extension slides and make a big vertical ”box” that slides out. It can be open on one side, or both sides. It can be two boxes, upper and lower, that slide independently. It can have power.

Some place to hang a Dyson vacuum, a broom, a mop, apron, a stepstool, would be nice. I don’t have much need for additional spice or pantry space, but general storage is always welcome. Hideaway cookbook collection? Space for extra tall bottles, extra large containers, the stuff that never fits right in standard drawers and shelves?

Or build a single general-purpose big box with cleats, that shelves, hooks, storage bins, etc can be hung on and re-arranged as needed?
