Remodeling Design Dilemma Exterior

help with my Siding

Hi there, I’m looking for help with my siding. I will include pictures, but I want to know what colour you professionals would suggest any ideas are welcome. The brick must stay in the trim will be white because of the windows. They will not be replaced. Thanks so much for your help.

You could go with a beige color, but, I would personally use a soft cream similar to what you already have. It goes with the brick, and the roof, and other things around your home.

So you currently have narrow lapped siding on the house, a siding style historically used on Four Square and Victorian houses, and then Dutch lap on the garage.

FOUR SQUARE HOUSES

VICTORIAN HOUSES

Your home is a Colonial. I would select a larger lapped siding for both buildings

@orangecamera - we ended up going Tennessee Blue Stone and on the rest of the front of the house, played it a bit safe vs. cladding a section of the front of the house in wood, we put clear cedar on the underhang, around the front door, changed out the front door and got some more modern looking numbers. We loved it, and had a ton of interest when we sold the house, made a nice profit and moved cross country several years ago. Good luck!

Whose siding are you planning to purchase?

That would narrow down the choices.

Dividing the siding into sections divided by belly bands can make vinyl siding more interesting.

You may also want to beef up the white trim around your windows.

I was thinking of gentec siding or mitten? What do you call this siding on the picture above?
