First Scape in OH!!
Comments (6)I know it sounds like an urban legend, my DH said the same thing but I promise it's true. I"ll try to take a photo and post. I really should email Richard Norris and tell him. He has it listed as a mid-season bloomer. I will definitely note when the date of first bloom. I still might get surprised and something else will put a scape and bloom first....See MoreA Scape, First Clematis and Iris Bloom & Some Lupines
Comments (14)maryl- I wonder if the texas bluebonnets would grow here. They sure are pretty. Kay- My TB iris season has begon. Its great to go out and look for new blooms each day. I have seen the pictures at Schreiners with the Iris and Lupines also and I don't know how they manage. My iris would rot if I tried that! Cundy, I am sure you could squeeze in another Lupine or two. If space is an issue, I have noticed from looking at potted plants side by side the the Russel Lupine plants are generally larger than the Gallery Lupines that I have. nat- I had only mixed sucess with my lupines from last year. So of course I tried again. I think its worth it because they are so pretty. Nancy and Jay, thank you for your kind comments. You all know I love to show pictures of my garden....See Morea first bloom on my first cheater scape

Comments (9)Wow, this seems really early, but we have been having really warm weather lately. I have a few plants that still have not come up, but I did see 1 scape up from one that I hope is Sweet Isabelle. Not tag by it, but it is in the general area. I saw another dormant barely poking out of the ground. Not freezing temps expected here the next week, but that can change. I have some bagged leaves saved,. I may put them over if it gets colder...See MoreRelated Professionals
