What do you like? Do you want solid curtains or a print? Is there a Calico Corners near you? Go there and look at some fabrics.

I would not hang the smaller pictures with the larger. I would hang the larger one alone, however it is not large enough as is. Something hung over the sofa should be 3/4 the width of the sofa. You can have it an additional mat or two added and a different frame made. This doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There are places where you do this yourself, for example, The Great Frame- Up. Using multiple mats allows you to pick up colors in the art piece and you can use them to determine the direction you will go in colorways for the accents in the room as well. You can have a slim inner mat in one color and a wider mat in another color or white and a wider color in another color or white. And give this piece of art the wide important frame it deserves. As far as a rug, the earlier examples of vivid rugs with combinations of colors look best. The other rugs are just drab and look like a snooze and like you threw down any old thing just to cover the floor. You might want to think about getting a sofa in a light color such as white, cream, or other light colors, and getting throw pillows in colors from your art piece in delicious textures like nubby prints and and velvets and folded silky fabrics and a marvelous colorful piece such as a big pouf in a colored leather or nubby knit to use as an ottoman or extra seating.

OK. I have attached a pic of my living room. I have also attached a few pics of some rugs that have peaked my interest (the yellow flowers being my favorite). The only items in the room that will remain the same are the couch and loveseat. I'd like to keep my curtains if possible, but I'm not opposed to switching them out. Other than those 2 things, everything else in the room will be updated. Thanks for any input you can give!!
