Needs ideas for painting my garage door. Need some curb appeal.
Comments (4)Add some color to the entry of your home. Maybe even something under the windows to the left that are colorful, warm, inviting. The potted plants (the pots and the plants) on either side of the entry could bring some color and make things seem more inviting. Colorful pots near the garage entrance??? I agree with not changing the garage door. Does it need some more hardware to add some character (I can’t remember the details of the garage door at the moment)?...See MoreFront of the house landscaping project.
Comments (2)"We will be putting in a new walkway to the front door, making it wider at the front step." Unless you're hiring a professional to design it, I'd highly recommend that you create a separate thread, just for the walk. Include the same photos as (I'm going to ask you for) here, and include a base plan of the front-of-house area (which you could also use for planting in this thread.) For landscaping, you need to show the whole front as a unified view, but from not too far a distance. Return to where the first photo, above, was taken, and then take a new series of slightly overlapping photos that pan from lot line to lot line, from that single camera position. Don't substitute a computer generated panorama as it will be too small....See MoreNeed help! Any ideas for curb appeal?
Comments (6)The red shrub looks like Euonymus alatus. If it is, removal would be an excellent plan since it is an invasive species in many states. https://www.invasiveplantatlas.org/subject.html?sub=3023...See MoreNeed Curb Appeal Ideas 1970’s Rambler
Comments (7)Can you show more of the house? All of the front in one photo, close-ups of porch area, front door, and beds. Are the sides and back brick, siding, or both? Are there awnings over the windows? In the meantime, there are lots of trim colors that could look nice. Here are a few, search ’blonde brick trim colors’ for more: https://www.coloradocolorconsultants.com/2021/08/24/top-5-paint-colors-for-blonde-brick/ If you’re keeping the metal columns, I’d paint them whatever trim color you decide. Otherwise look into replacing with wood columns (sell or give away the metal ones, they’re popular for projects). For landscaping advice, we’d need to know what area of the country you’re in, a better idea of budget and planting experience, and close-up photos. The tree definitely needs trimming up. The porch could be more welcoming and inviting with seating (chairs or bench), potted plants, maybe a table. There are usually good deals on seating sets — two chairs and table. I don’t know your style to be more specific … if it was me, I’d go retro with porch furniture, new or look for vintage. Also — did you just move in, or have lived there a while, or are planning to sell? More context would be helpful. :) ETA: Retro outdoor furniture: There are quite a few threads on Houzz with houses similar to yours, this is one from a couple of years ago: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/6210115/blonde-brick-home-accent-trim...See MoreRelated Professionals
