Bathroom vanity countertop backsplash and tiled wall
Comments (4)I had a lot of trouble with this decision in my self-designed bathroom. My advice is find a photo of a vanity top with a backsplash to see the difference. Pick the photo of the setup you like best and print/save it to show your contractor or tile shop or countertop fabricator exactly what you want. On the site Houzz dot com with decorating photo examples (thousands!) from designers I see that the modern designer look is not 4 inch countertop backsplash. Now I see another reason vessel sinks are so popular--they eliminate the need for the counterop backsplash/sidesplash. Here are photos I saved when I started my remodel to try to pick the way I wanted mine to be. The thread discussion on Houzz that I link below has a lot of photos of this to compare. Comments (3)What writersblock says. We have marble in our bathroom and it is etched all over - even water can etch it. I don't mind the etching, but i'm sure it would bug some people. You can go to a stoneyard and get a sample and etch it yourself and see if the look will bother you. In terms of staining, I'm pretty impressed with how the sealers make it almost impossible to stain. My dd has hot pink toothpaste that she smeared on the white woodwork (big timeout) and I couldn't get the stain off the woodwork no matter what I tried. But she always gets it on our marble counter and even if I don't clean it up right away, it doesn't stain....See MoreReplacing a bathroom vanity sink/countertop-need advice
Comments (2)As a rule, BB cabinets and counter tops are separate, but sold as a unit. The usual procedure is to adhere the counter top to the cabinet with silicon. That means simply running a knife between the joint should cut the sealer on the open sides/front of the cabinet. Then pull/pry the counter top free....See MoreHelp with choosing vanity counter top
Comments (2)Have you thought about doing flat white and then utilizing textiles to add some character and visual interest? With Queen Beige floor/wall and a white vanity cab, white stone would look very chic and minimal - then you have unlimited potential to bring some additional beauty to the space with textiles....See MoreRelated Professionals
