Knobs on the uppers-all doors, pulls on the lowers-mix of doors and drawers. Here's my reasoning: the pulls won't catch on my clothing or on the grandkids...and it's easier to put the child safety cabinet locks through the pulls. I don't know if either of those issues apply to you but our 5 visiting munchkins range in age from 12 months to 9 years so we needed to consider their safety in some of our decisions. I'm in the process of marking off the hole so DH and I can install the hardware tonight when he gets home...if I absolutely hate it I'll let you know. That's my 2-cents worth.

I'm using 26 different knobs and pulls in my kitchen after seeing it in someone else's house. Mine are all animals and some various vegis/fruits and then one knob that is repeated (a pull in a sort of wrapped pewter look...hard to describe but do a search on pulls and you'll find pictures of mine). I'm using the same manufacturer (anne at home) so that the finish is all the same, which to me seems important when mixing so many knobs. I absolutely LOVE my knobs :) I'm doing the same thing in the master bathroom with knobs that look like different shells :) Again same finish from the same manufacturer.

Thanks guys, I've been watching cooking shows today and obsessing over hardware! Guess what, America's Test kitchen used knobs on drawers so it must be ok! (or maybe it was the other show I watched?) I wanted a real mix of hardware, yes I love yours Igloo, but I made too many other choices! I got too tired out. DH will be around tomorrow for install so I told him to decide on placement FOR me! Yes, "decision prison" LOL!! I'm refusing to decide on a backsplash for now, even though we have a history of never finishing everything! I think I would just pick something safe, which might be ok, but I don't want to regret it later. Sooo anxious to see it in real life and see if it all comes together!!!!

I would look at top knobs- they have an appliance pull section. The berenson pulls I used said they had appliance pulls but they did not feel substantial. I was able to match my pulls exactly at top knobs and these are sturdy!
