I used Blonde in a west facing room and it looked more orange than I was expecting and I didn't really like it. I have seen photos of it and I did like it, but the lighting may have been different. If you're not in a hurry, you might want to get a Color To Go sample, paint it on a foam board and see how it looks in the room at different times of day. If you like green, you might consider neutral gray greens. A few suggestions: SW Grassland, Comfort Gray, or Austere Gray. They all look great with warm woods and you can accent them with a lot of different colors - navy blue, burgundy, gold, dark green, beige or even bright colors like turquoise or orange. Comfort Gray is my all time favorite. If you try the Blonde and it seems too goldish/orange for you, check out SW Ivoire (on the same strip as Blonde, but lighter and less gold) or SW Believable Buff or Whole Wheat. Good luck.

I have chosen the color Blonde for our home. My ceilings will be BM Ivory White and the crown, base, casings ect will also be BM Ivory White. We are almost finished our reno and will be ready to paint soon. I have already painted some sample pieces of the color and put them around the house. It is a beautiful color, but changes with the light. Some areas look much darker than others. I have seen Navaho and it will look lovely with the Blonde. How much ceiling do you propose to paint Blonde. I would do up some sample boards and put them on your ceiling to get an idea. Sometimes, colored ceilings can make the room look a little closed in. How high is your ceiling. I have 8' ceilings and my current color is BM Muslin. I am changing them to Ivory White to give a cleaner, more open look. I think there will still be contrast from the ceiling and crown molding because two different kinds of paint will be used. Trim paint on the crown and flat paint on the ceiling. If you go to the Decorating Forum and search for Blonde, there are several threads of info and a few people have posted pictures of their homes in Blonde. Those pictures convinced me. Check it out.

My husband and I have been living your problem for the last couple weeks. We did a kitchen reno and had to replace a fairly large section of flooring in the area between the kitchen and living room. Our entire place is hardwood (probably original to the house- 1925) so we didn't want to refinish the whole floor. First attempt- applied only a few coats of oil based poly to bare, sanded wood. Floors appeared way too pink/rosy and light, not dark enough and didn't have the yellowish tint that the existing floors had. Next we resanded and experimented with a bunch of different colors of stain. We ended up using a couple different colors- one darker and one lighter. We left one of the coats on for way too long and it took forever to dry. Still wasn't the right color so we were concerned, but once it dried (several days later), we were able to apply more stain to segments of the floor that were still too pink or where we needed variation in color to match the existing floor. The color is looking pretty good- it's not perfect but is not too noticable. After the stain dries, we'll add some coats of oil based poly, which will hopefully darken it a little more and eventually give it that yellowish tint that comes with age. If your floors aren't fixed yet, I can give you the name of the stain colors we used- we tried so many I can't remember which ones we ended up using right now!

It seems to be decent quality, but only time will tell. This does not have an embossed in register pattern, so if you have good natural light, you may be able to see that. Looks fine unless you have the natural light flowing down the pattern. I don't have a good camera, but I took these last night. Has dog slobber and some stuff on it. I have to clean floors daily and didn't before taking these! The 5 rows on the right of the first picture are the blonde, next is a cheaper verson of Abermarle from Home Depot called Almond Truffle Maple, It's a little grayer. Then Provincial Swan. They are all available under various brand names.
