LOL .. ya Bonnie he will show up .. he is that stupid :o) He isnt looking at a few months in custody he is looking at maybe 5 - 7 years + +. I have yet to hear for the fool .. but its only a matter of time cuz he doesnt even have any clean underwear .. yuck. I got my new kid on the 5th. So far he isnt any problem at all. But he isnt in school yet so the expectations are pretty minimal. Tomorrow I am going to start tightening the screws :o) We are going to go the Humane Society in the morning (7:30 am) to volunteer. He needs to be doing something so why not work on his 40 community hours that he will need to graduate. I would have to say that the other foster parents in our program are a bit jelouse as my kids are hand picked just for me :o) My old social worker deals with all of the kids in the group homes so she knows me well and what type of kid would do well here. It works out great for me as they are usually an excellent fit so we have little issues :o) This kid is pretty explosive (so they tell me) but I have yet to see any behaviours .. you have to love the honeymoon period :o) He really likes all of the animals in our home which is a plus as the pets tend to defuse alot of the emotions a kid feels. He didn't seem to be dishonest...unless he saw the smashed condenser and was shining me on hoping I wouldn't see it. I doubt it. My wife and I were concentrating on the bumper which looked ok to us, I assume he was too. From an insurance standpoint it wouldn't matter whether on private property or public road. Car 'a' striking car 'b' is a claim no matter where it occurs. Of that I'm sure. I'm out of luck because I didn't get his info at the time so have no way to identify or contact him now. I could file a claim with my insurance company but I won't. Didn't get an estimate but the damage is probably close to my deductable. Fortunately...I guess, everything still works fine. If the condenser would have puked out r134 at the time at least I would have seen the damage. Oh well. Maybe reading my story will help someone else in a similar situation someday.

Yes I did, sorry for the mix-up! I really don't have that much patience :). Sorry jimrac, yes it can be very frustrating the way salespeople treat the public. I guess that's why buyers have to beware and do some homework before shopping and buying. It's my opinion that consumers today are very savvy and know which end is up...I was in a very well known book store yesterday and a salesperson approached me and asked if I needed help finding something. I was shocked because it rarely happens in that store so I asked my question and she said "All the books are in alphabetical order (while pointing in the general direction) so it would be over there" was the extent of her help....I just smiled, checked for the book, and left without buying anything. People lament the fact that book stores are disappearing at an alarming rate, but there is a reason for that. I shop on Amazon.com where I can easily find whatever I want, always get great service, and don't have to wait long for my purchase.

A lot of so-called KDs, particularly at big box stores, are really just cabinet order clerks. I don't want to generalize because a friend of mine had an excellent KD at a HD who went over and above and did an excellent job. It's good you found this out early - I'd suggest you shop around a lot more and do a lot of your own research as you've already started doing.
