Laundry Room Design Dilemma

what can I do with this space?

last month

I have this space here in the master bedroom where we can place a stackable washer and dryer. I think it looks cohesive to have this whole wall have Sheetrock wall-to- wall. What are your suggestions with this dead space here right next to the washer and dryer. Once washer and dryer is installed we cannot have access to this little area. What are your suggestions on what to do here so we don’t waste space.

think through how you will use the W/D and the whole space.

Where will you put a hamper/dirty clothes, hang clean clothes straight from the dryer?

Where will you fold clothes, set socks and underware before you carry them to a drawer in the bedroom? Where will you store laundry detergent, hangers... Do you have room in the primary bedroom for a dressing room space? Maybe you can create a new dressing room/laundry/bath if you think about the whole bedroom space. Squaring off a wall isn't always the answer, use your imagination to create an experience.

Easier now to move a few pipes and drains to get what you really want.

I am not sure where the dead space I assume to the left of the WD is Sorry but I would never have a W/D in my bedroom so for mw this whole area would be great for storage of stuff used infrequently and done so it really just disappears when it is not being used so maybe even a nice High boy in front for something you need to have for clothing storage etc. Of course it needs to be drywalled no matter what.

i like the idea of furniture there, like newyorking said, but I am a lamp person and what always looks inviting to me when you come in a door is a table and a small lamp. I would just put a pretty silver or pewter bowl on the dresser next to the lamp for your keys. then keep your gloves, scarves etc (if you dont live in warm weather, that is LOL) in the drawers The space begs to be warmed up.

Monkeygrass if you just want a groundcover. You can go with the spreading kind that will be more uniform and will be contained by the concrete or the mounding traditional kind that looks a little showier when blooming. The stuff will grow anywhere. If you want an edible, maybe Christmas lima beans than can climb the wall.

Not a thing can be done about the available space. I suspect such garage laundry rooms were thought of by architects that never do laundry. What I would do is raise the hanging rack as high as possible; the bar will still be about 10" lower than the top. Put a fold out laundry table with the top set at 30" to 36" above the floor. This is a Small Version. When lowered it's out of the way of hanging clothes, but you can lift it for folding towels, jeans, etc. You can buy or make one. When closed the support swings sideways against the wall and the top drops over the support. Larger versions might need two supports, and metal Folding Shelf Brackets can be purchased.
