Paint color suggestions for kitchen remodel.

last month

I am doing a full remodel of my kitchen and adding a small bathroom/laundry/mudroom addition, and a covered patio across the back of my classic New England cape cod style house. The kitchen has an east/west orientation. There are two small windows in the breakfast area facing east, and one window over the sink facing west. The covered patio is on the west side of the house. We are adding skylights to the porch roof strategically placed over existing windows to allow light into the kitchen and other rooms along the back. There will be several recessed and pendant lights in the kitchen. I mention all this to describe the natural and artificial lighting planned.

The photos show the colors I’ve chosen. Creamy linen shaker cabinets, fantasy brown calcite counters and complimenting walnut butcher block countertops on the island and east facing breakfast nook. The kitchen floors will match the wood oak floors in the rest of the house. These are have a clear poly coating that reads amber color. The floors are c 1961. The addition will be 16” square porcelain tiles in a mottled tan tone.

I am considering a blue medium tone paint, or perhaps a medium green. I have used green, light blue, tan, and grey paint in the rest of the house. The kitchen is self contained and the adjoining dining room is has tan paint with a red/tan oriental rug.

I live in a shoreline community and seem to be leaning towards blue. I am looking for thoughts or alternate paint color suggestions. Thanks folks!
