What an amazing job and a beautiful bathroom! I love it! I read your comment about the hard water and we have it too. I squeegee every day and still have spots on the marble. My sister just told me that her hair stylist has a shower head that has a water softener in it and he loves it. Next time I'm in Home Depot I'm getting one. It is supposed to be on the aisle where the water softeners are and not the shower heads.

Our last house was built in 1955 and had 2 bathrooms originally. The main bath was partially remodeled in 1985 - and badly done. I'm not sure about the basement bath since the basement had been gutted before we bought the house. We gutted the main floor bath before we moved in in 2009 and later added the basement bathroom back in 2011. Our current house was built in 1979 by the previous owners, who are good friends of ours. The house had 2 full baths, two 3/4 baths and a ridiculously small and unused powder room. We ended up eliminating the powder room in the kitchen remodel and I DON'T regret it. The other bathrooms were untouched over the years except for replacing the wall to wall carpet with tile. We had a leaky shower in one of the basement 3/4 baths so we are taking care of that right now. It involved replacing the whole shower. Four bathrooms are going to take a lot of time and money to upgrade so it will be a process!

Once you get the lighting that makes the floors look as good as they can then it is time to pick a counter top and paint color. There is less choice with counter top colors and it is more expensive and harder to change out than wall paint. Bring samples home and look at them in your space and with your flooring. Bring home a bunch of different colors because it never looks the same in the store as it does in your home. If you could also pick up a bunch of paint swatches and try to find something that looks like the green color in the flooring it may give us a better idea of tone. It doesn't appear green in the photo on my screen. It looks like taupe (Beige/Gray) and gray and your counter looks charcoal gray - more dark blue gray.
