Under Cabinet lights Corner Cabinet
Comments (0)Ok, I have been reading all the threads about under cabinet lighting and where to place them. i.e. towards the front vs. towards the back. I have decided to use the Kichler Series I direct wire xenon lights and place them towards the front. My question is: how do you deal with the corner cabinet? (I couldn't figure out how to paste a drawing to explain it better....) Do I measure the cabinet to the right and to the left and then the corner and order 3 light fixtures placing each at the front of the cabinet or do I just order two lights and place them at the front of the cabinets to the left and right of the corner cabinet having them meet in the middle of the corner cabinet but not at the front of the corner cabinet? Thanks trying to order these today and thought I had it down......See MoreTalk to me about corner sinks - are they ever OK?
Comments (19)We were talking about this thread in another and I didn't realize cwalen had responded again! Sorry! lyfia - That's part of what the 12" between sink and DW is for. You step just a bit in front of that 12" drawer stack so you can pull the trash out, scrap, rinse, load. (I just tried it in my corner sink area to be sure!) cwalen - I think that placement is fine. Or, you could switch it with the cab next to it so it's a little closer to the range (in case one person is also prepping near the range - a little easier for them to get to). If you did that then you won't need to step to the side for the clearance during cleanup. But as I mentioned - I just tested out the side step and it was pretty insignificant! :)...See MoreMagic corner cabinets - Right or left opening doors?
Comments (8)The Lemans has a built in stop block to adjust the swing- it can be placed next to a range. Here is a pic next to a Wolf at 26 1/8" deep, may manage up to MAYBE 26 3/8. Pic shows lemans open but still has a tad more travel available. The bigger problem is the opening with-showing 20 1/2 less filler minimum of 2.5 gives you an 18" door- On frameless that is a 16.5 opening and on framed overlay 15" , 16" with inset...You need a bit more. I try to stick with the Lemans 50 or 60- the 45 is better than the older small version though. The RAS half moon units work with smaller openings but 15 is still too small to make one of those worth while. So unless you can get clearance for the door opeing use the longer wall. As to magic corner in the uppers-I wouldn't on a bet....See Morecabinet crown molding or house crown molding?
Comments (11)ffjunk, of course it's a personal choice, but thought I should add, we have a situation similar to yours, with a pass-through window between painted cabinets, as well as a pocket door between a cabinet and a cabinet pantry. Our cabinet crown molding, and our whole house crown molding are the same heights, but different cuts, so the choice was easier for us - keep the same crown molding throughout the kitchen, though it is open concept. We are using stop blocks at the pocket door crown as the pantry is a stained along with the crown molding above it, and the cabinet adjacent is painted, along with the crown above that. The trim around the door will be painted the same as the cabinet/cabinet crown molding. Our ceilings are 9'. We are also using a stop block where the whole house crown meets the kitchen cabinetry crown - it would be very difficult to both cope and scribe the crowns to match and we prefer the stop blocks. I don't have photos as we are still in the midst of remodeling and our cabinet maker has yet to bring and install the stop blocks....See MoreRelated Professionals
