I think this falls under the "nice to have" category. Changing out the floor probably won't add value to your home, and it won't make the floor more functional for you. However, if it will bother you to not have flow from one floor to the other I would change it out. I'm also assuming there will be no change in floor level once you install the new bathroom floor, or if there is a change in level it can easily be addressed with a saddle. If there is a change in level that is not easily addressed then I would seriously consider extending the tile into the closet area.

micherine the wall hung vanity was custom made by my general contractor's longtime cabinet subcontractor, which is a large shop in San Jose. I can't recommend them. While the workmanship was excellent (with one exception I'll describe below) the process to design, get a quote, and select the wood was one of the most painful and frustrating parts of our whole-house remodel. They didn't return phone calls or emails. They weren't in the shop when I drove down there to meet with them at pre-arranged times. They didn't treat my job as if it mattered. It took nearly 2 months just to get a quote from plans we drew up together. They wanted to charge me double the retail price for the Mockett pulls. I bought them myself and drove them down to be installed. They didn't pack the doors well for delivery - they were wrapped tightly together with nothing in between them so the pulls on one drawer dug into the wood on the one next to it. They did send a repair guy out who to fix it who was excellent, but he's leaving the company because he's tired of facing the wrath of customers who were unhappy with the entire process. My general contractor knows they're difficult to work with but sticks with them because they're slightly less expensive than other shops. The one workmanship issue I had was that the 1" filler piece wasn't grain-matched with the door next to it. This is not a difficult thing - all of my kitchen cabinets were grain-matched including filler pieces. But it's minor in the whole scheme of things. Aren't you glad you asked? If I had to do it again I'd go with Ikea cabinets and SemiHandMade door and drawer fronts, as I did in my kitchen. Here's my inspiration picture that I found on the SemiHandMade site last year. My master bath has brown cabinets and the window and crown molding are done in brown wood...my master bedroom has brown crown molding and brown accents. There is a common thread so the two rooms flow. But they are not the same color, not a lighter tone of the other...nope, two different colors, different styles, definately different linens (I only believe in white for towels because I believe God invented bleach for a reason). My hardware in the master bath and master closet are in similar gold tones. And the lighting between the three rooms is all antique, most are exposed bulb fixtures from the early teens but in different colors. So there's another little carry through. I think my three rooms, which are all different colors with different linens flow because I've kept a few key features similar, though not exactly the same. In the bath, brown is the main color, in the bedroom it's an accent and in the closet it becomes the main again. The walls of the master suite are bronze (literally metalic bronze tone) but the master bath is done in a marble like finish of cream and tan. The closet is gold. All different textures, but they still flow well and give me flexibility to do different things in the master bedroom if I want to. My two bathrooms are as polar opposites as you can possible get! I'll explain: My bathroom (the master ensuite is light (but not white marble, hex floors and white/light gray paint light). Moonlight "travertine like" porcelain floors and walls, Seatones (blue, aqua and sea green) glass tiles, Giallo Ornamentale granite and a light blue ceiling. Dark vanity. Crystal glass sink. The master bedroom and ensuite are totally different from the rest of the house and we're ok with that. Those are private areas. The rest of the house is done in rich warm colors, rich browns, pumpkin, deep golds, plum, dark sage green, bronze and black. DH's bathroom flows with the look of the rest of the house. His granite is mostly black, deep orange, dark gold. His glass sink is a Colbalt Copper color. Floor tiles and tub/shower surround is dark charcoal (basically black with accents of tumbled crema marfil and ORB metals). The walls were just finished today. A beautiful spanish knife texture with a glazed faux finish. Color is reddish bronzed over dark gold base. This is also the bathroom guests will use. It's bold and dramatic. He likes it. I like it too but I much prefer the tranquility of the Caribbean inspired color palette in my bathroom. So yeah, I have no problem with bathrooms looking TOTALLY different <g> Oh, they ARE on opposite ends of the house :)
