Hi peachtree! Baby Chamelon is the cutest name and is what drew me to choose that one. Of course I will keep everyone updated on their progress. Maybe a monthly video tour of them would be a fun and easy way to document their growth.

Bart- Your comment is completely out of line. We've had plenty of friendly exchanges, and I’ve been nothing but genuine in sharing my experiences—both the good and the bad. I have nothing to gain from posting about this vendor. I don’t get a commission, I don’t benefit if anyone orders or doesn’t order, and I certainly have no reason to “sell” anything to anyone here. To suggest otherwise is insulting.

I shared my experience because there was no information available when I was making my decision, and I thought it might help others who are in the same position. You don’t have to like it, and you don’t have to order, but attacking my integrity is completely uncalled for. If you want to be skeptical, fine. But at least have the decency to direct your suspicions at the company, not at someone who is simply sharing their experience.

Just before Christmas I shared when I discovered rose.it as a possible vendor. I posted everything I knew about them and was completely transparent about my order. You may remember, every single US order from them was ultimately returned by US Customs, which left several of us disappointed. Will you now suggest that I was secretly selling for them too? Your accusation is disgusting.

Lily , I am embarrassed to admit I was afraid to offer cuttings bc my rose was suffering and I wasn’t sure if it would make it . It gets incredibly hot here and my potted roses always suffer to some degree but this past year I really went through a sad spell that left me absolutely neglecting my roses . I basically had to bring it back from the verge of death and I wasn’t sure it would make it . I lost a lot of roses 😢On top of that, my roses weren’t labeled and I had moved pots around so I wasn’t sure where it landed.

Luckily , it has pulled thru despite my neglect . And I found the tag buried in the pot .

Anyway .. I wanted to explain myself bc I did feel bad not offering but at the time I couldn’t in good conscience.

Speaking of sharing… my video had a little Easter egg. After thinking about it, I’ve decided I’m really near capacity and don’t need either of the roses I offered, so there’s no decision to be made—both are hers. I know exactly how it feels to have my heart set on a variety, only for doors to keep closing no matter what I tried. I’m glad to be a small part in gifting that to such a kind person. I hope she sees this soon.

Royal Jubilee is a charmer of a rose, whose habit seem more reminiscent of an antique rose with those nodding blooms and soft-looking foliage. Lily, I wish you great success with your new rose plants.

I am VERY suspicious of these companies that seem to have found ways of getting around the laws against exportation of plants, etc. and wish that people would not patronize them.

That’s an amazing order! I love Effie, she’s in my garden and this will be her secind year! Effie first has lighter new blooms, but when established tgey are gokden yellow! I would bet the hybridizers of these roses are not getting one penny of royalties for their inventions. The sale of these roses also jeopardizes the hybridizer's rights to a US Plant Patent.

Bart- I accept your apology and appreciate you offering one. I understand and respect your concern. As a small note many well-known Etsy and Facebook sellers source their roses from China as well. They act as middlemen, so ordering from them isn’t necessarily a lesser evil—just a different path to the same source. Ordering directly from DA would always be my preferred vendor. I wish they would meet demand instead of retiring sought-after roses or restricting availability, there would be far less incentive for people to look elsewhere.

Kitty- you have an amazing collection! Your Velvety Twilight inspired me to add my own from Ergonzi—along with two additional roses. How many do you have in total now? I think I'm just over 100. This time last year, I had only five! I still have about 10 on order from various vendors, but once they arrive, I'm done. I'm really looking forward to caring for what I have and enjoying whatever they produce.

hugogurll- Thank you for sharing your prospective. I completely understand the importance of supporting hybridizers and respecting plant patents. That being said, I think some of the marketing and business decisions made by certain breeders, like David Austin, have unintentionally driven demand elsewhere. Retiring roses that still have a strong following and restricting access to new varieties has left many rose lovers with few options. Personally, I would always prefer to order directly from DA—I even added 10 bareroots from them this year—but their policies have made it difficult for customers to access certain roses through official channels. When that happens, people will inevitably seek them out wherever they can.

Thank you! I need to count how many Japanese & European roses I have-30+. Some are still being delivered this spring. I have about 100+ roses altogether. I olan to remove 15+ -give aways. Each year I try yo renove some. ! I’d like to reduce numbers! LOL! Wonder if I’ll ever reduce numbets! LOL!

Velvety Twilight is really amazing! I received her from Highgardens-a large thick caned rose. She is about to bloom. Did you see VT on my thread”My Japanese & Euro…. Rose Garden” ? She has a dark purole bud to bloom soon. She’s been growing inside kitchen potted over winter. Soon to be planted outside. I’m glad you found a VT-You’ll love her! Wow! You ordered many roses wuickly; although I ordered 30-40 roses for this spring! It’s easy to order rises all intervlong! LOL!
