Comments (16)Its a very nice raised pond! I know you don't want it to look bad, but I guess it comes down to the choice of if you want a pond or not. Is there that small stone around the entire pond? You could put a line of electric wire there and put it on a timer, so it only comes on at night. They have solar powered ones. The ledge, although great for humans to sit and enjoy the pond, really gives the coons a foothold. I find it strange that they are actually getting into the pond......even when the water was deeper. Could you rig up a motion spot light that would come on when they came around? How about leaving a couple transistor radios close to the pond, tuned to a night talk station? Your suggestion of not having trap door snails for awhile might be an option, and hopefully the coons would find food elsewhere. Do you neighbors have coon problems too? Is there anything along the ledge that they can step down on in the pond? Dealing with coons can be so frustrating....See MoreHas anyone ever dealt w/this obnoxious weed in their rose garden?
Comments (27)And you can do yourself a favor by getting a shovel out right now. Those woody vines tend to have roots that run all over the place and if you can pull out a five foot section of it, that's more you won't need to worry about and it's also rewarding in a personal way because you're destroying your enemy! I have a similar plant here that comes in from my neighbor's yard and it pops up randomly. This year I just ripped out the roots wherever they lead and it turned out they'd made a network all over the place. Your landscaper was an idiot for telling you additional dirt would smother it. The only kind of weed that you kill with plastic or dirt like that are things like dandelions - superficial weeds. Woody plants are entirely different. But because they store nutrients in their roots for the winter, applying Roundup or whatever now is most effective....See MoreVZAccess launch (obnoxious) sound
Comments (4)It's a Verizon air card connection, not a browser. Under options, on the Connect tab, check mark in 'Turn off Audio' should mute it. I Googled for the answer and found it in the "How to Use Guide: VZAccess Manager - General Preferences" manual....See MoreSorry! I'm being obnoxious!
