Help decorate the front porch area.

Decor ideas to spruce up this space? Cushions are currently getting washed, but bench cushions are cream, and table cushions are a terracotta color. Would like ideas with current furniture AND interested in ideas with different furniture. I am also not sure what to do with the square areas behind the walls. The one thing I want integrated into any of your ideas is the Mary statue.

If this is your front door, do you/would you actually sit out there? The current furnishings seem way too casual/inexpensive for this sophisticated home.

The existing useable space seems really small and squeezed up against the house. Do you know what the purpose was in creating those empty wells? Have you thought about flooring over the whole area and then roofing it? As is, it seems this spot would be roasting hot with no shade and no air movement.

Or, remove the outer brick kneewalls altogether and buy more impressive furniture.

It's so sweet!! Time to have a view, and place to go, from your home office! I would start with a floor surface - could be an outdoor rug or wood tiles. Then add one or two really comfy chairs with your favourite colour cushions. A small table to put a drink down on would be great too. Then greenery is all important for outside. Not sure what climate you have, but go for something native of course and in a large planter so that it can grow to give you even some shade. String lights along the top of the rail will be perfect and those can be solar powered, or plugged in so that you can have full control from inside. Twinkle lights work wonders too, and can be the lights along the top of the rail, as well as having some in the greenery you choose to put out there.

No on the window because, IMO, it is too shabby chic for you home…lovely, by the way. Indoor/outdoor runner up to front door; rattan furniture, all working with a new front door color. Suggesting B.M. Somerville Red for the door AND the storm door. Art, instead of the window, your choice, of course, this is from greatbigcanvas.com region Florida. Out door sofa (love the look) and indoor/outdoor runner are from all modern.com. The faux croc pillow cover is from etsy.com. Instead of 2 18 x 18’s, I think three lumbars would work out better. Couple of garden stools in white. These are from Hayneedle. Add perennial climbing vines on the columns. Would ever consider painting the columns black?

The entry is impressive, and the doors take up most of the width so I’d skip the planters. Maybe a large, flat piece of metal sculpture on the wall to the left of the door. Lighting looks perfect to me. Add a large impressive welcome mat.

I found this image at themenwithhats.blogspot.com. It shows some ideas that relate to your situation. I like the way they’ve extended the depth of the porch, and think you could get a similar look by making the step up span the entire width. This would allow you to not need a porch railing. In your case, the flagstone would be concrete so that it is harmonious with the wide step. I like the use of curves, too, that lead to the driveway.
