Need Serious Curb Appeal Help
Comments (4)Well this is really crazy! There have been over 30 responses to my post since Saturday and I've provided additional pictures. Now I see just this one response, which wasn't there as part of the other 30+! What's going on? Something happening with Houzz/THS? Judy, thank you for your comments. It's actually a former lake-front cottage that has been changed/added to over the years. I agree that I could be mistaken for a farmhouse, but it's not. And, unfortunately, it's vinyl-sided; the color is what it is. But yes, we're open to changing the color of the porch, railings, and stairs. I sure hope that the rest of the thread reappears. I need it!...See Moreneed help with curb appeal. Want to make it craftsman style with porch
Comments (5)it's not a craftsman. adding a porch and stone will not make it one. It's a post-war stucco bungalow. how do you plan on getting this look, onto your home, without spending oodles of dough? What you could do is modify your home to include a porch, maybe extend the left side out front, but you're talking about a remodel. You could certainly do things to spruce it up, but how much do you want to spend? Trying to DIY this could look really bad when completed....See MorePlease help, need curb appeal for boring L-shaped Ranch
Comments (9)Kelli, this is my amateur opinion and drawing. The roof, the siding and the fascia/rain gutter are all about the same color. The fascia would be better in white. I used black because I couldn't make the white work. The tree near the street is ready to be trimmed up. I think the bed in front looks shallow and the shrubs seem planted too close to the house. I would deepen that bed. I do not care for the extended part of the bed because it blocks the view of the entrance. I would reuse those plants and rework the entrance a bit. I might plant a large shrub in front of the second part of the driveway. People should notice the house more than the driveway and this would hide a bit of it. It is a very attractive house and I would love a three car garage....See Moreneed help for curb appeal
Comments (8)I think wider trim on the windows would halp I like the color you have chosen I always like a walkway to a front door from the street so maye start there . As much as I love trees IMO those big ones are really not great for curb appeal so great you removed those .Not sure about your style but maybe window boxes on those upper windows would fix the boxy look a bit. Then go to work on landscaping to have the house a bit more open so more low growth I like the cherry tree for sure but not the rest of the bushes. So first a proper walkway to the front door from the street and a new front door with more glass ....See MoreRelated Professionals
