Michael Nash Builders

last month

Where do I even begin? We decided to build an addition onto our house for my mother. My mother spent her retirement savings in hopes of enjoying her golden years close to family. She signed the contract with Nash in December 2022, got a completion date of December 2023 and handed them a check for $150k. After picking out all the floors, cabinets, fixtures ,etc and handing over another check for $150k we got a start date of 5/2023. On 4/2023 Nash said they had an opening and for a mere $20k more, they could start the excavation in April. May…June…July …. We broke ground and filled the driveway with dirt that sat there till October 2024.
December of 2024 came and went. My mother was so happy in December of 2022, she was so depressed in December 2023 and she unexpectedly passed away in November of 2024…never having lived in her addition. She had to live the last 2 years of her life dealing with begging, pleading, crying, frustrated and kicking herself for hiring this company to build her “luxury addition”.

I can’t even begin to express our disappointment in this whole process. The lies, excuses, inexcusable delays, more lies, short cuts and pure bad workmanship!!!! We paid the installment for the windows only to get the windows a YEAR later. They vented the bathroom into the attic, the entrance to the garage is 2-3 feet from the driveway, the ceiling in the bathroom is crooked, live wires were left exposed for months, they dug a hole in the basement floor to access the plumbing and left the hole and mound of dirt in the basement for 4 months (until my daughter fell in the hole), doors that won’t shut and/or don’t fit properly, a lock on the inside of the closet (safe room maybe? But how do you get to your clothes locked in the closet?), the plumbing leaking through the ceiling into the garage, the pipes freezing because they were never insulated properly, etc., etc., etc.

If you are looking for your project to be completed close to the projected date, having consistent, reliable workers, project dates being met, and not having to double check ALL of the work, do not go with Nash. If fact, I am still waiting on my FOURTH revised schedule. Maybe they will finish by December 2025? December 2026?
