Comments (32)rosaserai - I do love it. It takes another minute to clean due to the ledges. Totally worth it. Hasn't scratched. I use the grates daily for drying. I use the strainer weekly. I use the cutting board mostly when we have company to cut sliced fruit for drinks - it is small and we have a large butcher block for other items. The basin is great for washing fruit - double up the strainer and then drain. Could the angle be a tiny tad more for better draining - maybe. I do have to chase some chunks to get them down the disposal. Could the white on the accessories not stain as much - yes. But a scrub with steel wool has removed all discoloration. Could the cutting board be bigger - yep. But would I get the sink again - ABSOLUTELY. I've had it 4 years and will put the same one in the next house....See MoreFactory mulled windows?
Comments (23)Cp..yes and the search would probably be more fruitful if I could remember some of his other monikers. Your windows are well done....both inside and outside. Mine in my old house looked like this with 2 studs between the windows. Love this approach. I like the 6" trim around your windows and in between. Are the edges eased or squared? Are you using a backband? Do you have a close up pic of the 1x6 ? Holly...we used Andersen 400 dh in our last house and we loved those windows. Owned the house for over a decade..not a bit of trouble. Great windows back then. This house I knew I wanted the Marvin Ultimate casement with interior retractable screens and fractional grill. This was our splurge and we didn't look elsewhere. We further splurged with the aluminum pre-installed exterior trim. But it looks good and will be maintainance free. ..no caulking. You should look at this window. ps..thanks for the props re: my senior moment :-) Here is a not very recent picture that demonstrates the size of the trim piece between the grouped windows on the interior. It will look a lot like CP's in size....See MoreWindow trim help - I don't know which one to choose. What looks best?
Comments (14)These options are so similar that I have to really look hard, as I thought all three pics are the same. The space between the windows is such a small sliver, it looks funny to show that space. I would just use wide trim that covers the gaps....See MoreWhich Window Co to use - Simonton vs NBP vs Preservation?
Comments (7)@mmcclane, I'd agree with that thought. While you can have a successful project the first way, switching the approach will increase the odds quite a bit. Top tier products are not generally installed by companies that don't care about quality, and they are typically vetted for financial stability by manufacturers as well. All of that bodes well for you as a homeowner in finding a good product, good installation, and service down the road when it comes up. I should add that in searching for a good product, familiarize yourself with thermal and structural performance ratings that windows are independently tested and certified for. U value, shgc, condensation resistance, air leakage, and design pressure are the most important to determine how efficient a given window will be, along with offering a good indication of quality as well. With very few exceptions, great windows have great performance ratings, particularly as it applies to vinyl products....See MoreRelated Professionals
