Help Needed: Shower Saddle Collecting Water & Leaking – Fix Without Fu

last month

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with a persistent issue in my shower, and I’m hoping for some expert advice on how to fix it without completely removing the saddle or glass panels.

The Problem:

  • My shower saddle (stoop) was built incorrectly—it’s made from two separate pieces instead of one solid piece. Water collects on top, and when I open the door, it spills onto the bathroom floor.
  • A contractor tried to adjust the slope of the saddle to help drain water back inside, but it’s still pooling.
  • The glass door has a larger gap at the top than at the bottom, and one plumber suggested that water may trick down the door and contribute to the issue.
  • Water damage has already occurred:
    • The wood trim near the entrance got moldy, and I had to replace it.
    • Some tiles near the bedroom entrance also needed replacement.

What I Want to Avoid:

  • Removing the entire saddle and rebuilding it from scratch (since the glass panel on the side appears glued to the wall and floor).
  • Take down the glass door unless absolutely necessary.
