I have had both. We just moved from a home with Lifeproof LVP into a home with COREtec. Lifeproof feels really more comfortable to walk on. It has a more rubbery underlay and much more comfortable for standing for long periods of time. Going from laminate flooors, we immediately noticed the comfort and it never felt cold, like the laminate or COREtec. COREtec is much harder on the feet, but looks more realistic to hardwood flooring.

We've had our coretec gateway hickory flooring for just over a year. It's very easy to keep clean, but you need to use a cleaner specially for luxury vinyl floors (cortec actually makes one. I got mine from Amazon), and only damp mop, dont let puddles of water stand on the floor. That's what our installer said, even though they claim to be waterproof. As for durability, I can't say much because it's just me and my husband: no pets, kiddos, etc. But it looks brand new and I'm very happy with my choice. Not too much color variation, but enough to make it look realistic. I needed contrast with my cabinets, but didn't want to go too light. Do make sure you order extra because there were several planks that were defective. We had ours installed professionally. I hope this helps!

For those of you considering LVP, I can’t stress enough how important the installation process needs to be. IMO the flooring is great—durable, beautiful, comfortable to walk on, etc. We are having issues because the contractor we used was incompetent and our floors are now buckling. Thankfully it’s can be fixed without completely replacing, it’s just the inconvenience and extra $$ we’re paying because I don’t trust him to fix it. Make sure you’re installer know what he’s doing.

Thank you for your comments, and I especially appreciate the comments on how well it's been holding up. That is very reassuring. I know there are many good brands, but I felt quite comfortable with choosing Coretec. I was also getting nervous with how this Red River Hickory would look once installed as the pix I see on the internet are so variable.
