Thanks….but I was definately going to paint the garage doors dark brown like the trim since the garage doors are a wood grain look. Ugh!! Now I’m super confused. 😩

The general feeling on this site is that garage doors are utilitarian and not a design feature and therefore should not be painted to stand out but rather, fade into the house.

Opposite of the front door, which SHOULD stand out and call attention to itself.

Ah, interesting point. I was thinking they were a design feature and wanted the dark brown so the one door which does not have windows would t stand out as much. Ugh. Perhaps I made a big design mistake.

Agree with using the siding color. Painting them brown might pull a lot of focus to them as just brown ”walls.” Maybe someone here could do a mockup showing both brown and the siding color.

Why ask ?? IMO the place looks like a prison with a look out tower and fake stone slapped on randomly so the garage door would be my last item .

Wow Patricia, nice. It’s actually real TN fieldstone collected locally and the random pattern is what we like. I’m thinking your negativity perhaps stems from jealousy. Move on and have a nice day.

I think I am on the wrong side of this as well. I would have matched the trim

But I can see the appeal of matching the siding. But then I would want a thicker molding around the doors

Looks like a cool place - It reminds of camp ground with a main building for fun! I really like the rusty galvanized roof on the garage.

I bet it looks a lot nicer when it is sunny out. Some great landscaping will soften the appearance of everything.

I remember going to a camp once many years ago that had a tower like that and it was the coolest place to hang out and look at the view. That's probably what made me think of it.

Keep in mind - it's only paint on a garage door. It will need to be repainted at some point. Then you can try another color! Or if the camp has a name, paint that on the door!

Thanks again, Debbi. It’s only paint, you’re so right! We call it Camp Rivendell because we are on the side of a ridge, with most of the creek flowing thru a gorge. It’s the Rush song lyrics that speak to us in this place.

So I’m going brown because the guy who painted my plane said so. Thanks for your input guys! I was in the fence. But like Debbi said, it’s paint, you can repaint it. Love that she was a a kind and objective pro. I do appreciate those who said great as well. Thanks again.
