You have a nice space and some pretty things. I would probably put the bed on the wall to the right of the window. Either along the wall or just the headboard. Make your reading nook in the corner where the bed is now with a comfy chair and a reading lamp and a side table. When you've changed out the window shade to sometime lighter, you can sit in your comfy chair and have the shade open to see outdoors while you read or relax. Maybe put the square rug in that corner under the chair and adjust the other one to work with however you arrange your bed. Clear up all the clutter, put some of the smaller things that sit on the floor into the closet if you can. Add some art you love by the chair where you read and on the wall above the bed. Do you sit at the desk? It doesn't look like you do. If not, move the chair and get some big baskets under the desk to store some of the clutter.

Great advice. The door through which u enter the room is across the wall with the window towards the side where the bookshelf is. So will it be ok that u see the bed as the first thing when u open the door the door? I wanted to make thAt corner the reading nook as it faces the window like u said. Appreciate ur advice a lot

I would get it set up in a configuration you like, then decide if you need to change the bed. If you like the bed, I think it's fine. Because you photographed it not made up with linens, it's hard to say how it will look in the end, but a beautiful duvet or comforter will make it look more cohesive. So, maybe new linens, but show us what you have now. Make up the bed and post a pic.

I don't worry too much about placement of the furniture based on what you see first. I assume YOU are the one who will see it coming through the door? I care more about how it feels when you are using the room and the functionality for YOU. You spend 10 seconds noticing what you see coming through the door, then hours in the room, so I prefer to worry about the later.

The rugs together are too much. Get a larger rug that will cover the area where you want a rug - for warmth, or decor. Bedding should reflect some of the colors of the rug, as well as some art on the walls. A large rattan basket with a cover for a laundry hamper instead of gray canvas bin. The magazine rack use for books, magazines, etc instead of clothes - or move to another room. Wherever you decide to put the bed make sure you can get on either side to make it. Or, a daybed that can be used for seating and resting.

Any daybed suggestions?

I did remove some stuff that did not belong. Changed the position of beds. Rugs are looking weird but right now that my favorite thing in this room. Still not sure what to do. Clutter out made a big difference but still same confusion about placement of stuff

I think the bed works nicely there, do you? If you want more open floor space, you could scoot the bed toward the desk a bit and eventually get a beside table between the window and bed. But for now, try the bigger rug to the left of the bed and the square one over by the doors next to the desk. Is that the closet? How do those doors slide open with those handles? When you get a chair you can decide where to better place the rugs.

eta, if you leave the bed centered on that wall, you could also try the rug running under the bed so you step on it from each side, but that will mostly hide it. Some people like things angled for a quirky twist, so that could also work/partially under the bed.

I thought it divided the room into two halves which I didn’t like first. Will move it closer to desk. And redo the carpets. The closet has only one door. The other door is actually the entry door fully opened. It has to be closed if the closet door need to be opened fully. I can’t tell how a wooden bed will look. The corner is now empty I like that area to even sit on the floor it gets sun from the window and feels warm

Carpets I know are not what any designer will agree with so will see what happens with them I just like them.

You could mock up a fake wood bed using cardboard for the headboard. It's kind of the same color as wood, lol. A taller headboard would look nice, I think, but I would totally make this one work and maybe get a wood side table to add wood to the room.

Did you try the bed sideways on that wall like a daybed? This bed might need to be replaced to place one like that, but it will give you an idea if you like that arrangement,

And if budget is tight and current bed isn't precious, you could cut off the headboard portion and just use it as a daybed with lots of pillows piled on it. Sleeping would be more difficult tho because your bed pillows would fall off the end, lol.
