I have read multiple different forums here on Houzz and almost without fail, her comments are dismissive and rude. Now, regarding your original question: Paint Color suggestions: I don't have specific paint colors to offer you, but what I would recommend is zeroing in on the clear undertone of your cabinets, flooring, and laminate top selection. It appears they are neutral, but as you know, neutrals still have an undertone. Once you know what the clear undertone is, then you can go to a paint deck and look only at the green paint colors with the same or complimentary undertones of your finishings to find the perfect color that will work on your Island. Then you can use the same approach to choose the best neutral paint color to closely match your laminate tops as you stated you'd like. A tool that has worked very well for me is "Understanding Undertones - Neutral Colour Wheel" by Maria Killiam. I will try to link to it here, but if it doesn't allow a link, go to mariakilliam. com. She has an excellent blog, youtube channel and videos, 2 great ebooks, neutral colour wheel, and a way of simplifying paint color selection so that even I can understand!! The trim and doors are original to the home and were not in our budget to upgrade throughout the house as this was a full home remodel and all we changed was the floors since they were carpet.

Are you thinking of painting all the trim or just the trim around the door? If your keeping the rest of the trim white but really dislike the white with the door I might go with bone around the door. Trim doesn't need to be different than the wall and especially when you don't want it to stand out. Lots of people paint trim the same as the wall color.
