Entry way Dilemma

Hello All,

Please help me decide if I should keep the bench or place a sofa table or perhaps both?

I’d be inclined to do a sofa table and no bench. If you can find one that also stores your shoes even better. I like a sofa table as it’s a nice way to add a lamp and it makes the sofa look more finished.

Move the sofa back toward the window and leave about 8-10" of floor for a tall plant and/or a floor lamp. No more gap.

What you have isn't bad. I like that your mirror echoes your arched window. The table seems a good width for the space. Maybe hang the mirror on the wall, add a taller buffet style lamp making it a bit more cozy and less objects. You could paint the table and also the back of your door to add color to go along with the rest of your home. When choosing a rug, I would tend to go a bit larger than too small. Make sure it's a low enough pile so that you're still able to open your front door.

I don't mind the table and mirror and can't really think of anything besides art that would fit on that wall. Can't see the table details well but could it be painted? How about red to match your lovely door? What would say "fresh and cozy" to you for that space? Have you thought of a new light fixture? A runner and a larger rug in the entrance could look good. I don't find the clock visible from the door to be welcoming so I'd be tempted to remove it.

You need lighting and I would suggest LEDs in 4000K The floor would be the first thing I would change it was not original and by the looks of it the cheap HD stuff that was done .What is in that step up? That is where a nice coat closet should go and maybe with white doors to break up all the wood since the wood on that back wall does not look the same as the rest. Then strip all the rest of the wood and do in a clear finish

Yes, better to move the sofa back towards the window, and IF ROOM add a sofa table. You could always add a narrow bench under the coat hooks if necessary.

The bench looks narrow enough to go under the coat hooks and leave room to walk between it and the sofa.

Without seeing the balance of the room, I'd be inclined to move the sectional toward the window & add a floor lamp in the corner that extends over the sectional for lighting.

Select a console table with a method to store shoes on the wall where you currently have coats hanging. Get the coats in a closet. It's not a good look.
