How to fix issues after light installation?

Things were looking good in our bathroom reno until the electrician was here Friday. Our builder has said they will fix but I am wondering how and how long it will take. And why it happened in the first place? Issues: holes are too big around 2 of the sconces and there is a jagged hole next to a light in the shower. And I am concerned at how the paint flaked off - maybe where they had painters tape?

Can they cut out and patch in new drywall without it being noticeable? Will we have more issues with the paint (Sherwin Williams)?

If the sconce canopy (plate cover) is not smaller than the box, which apparently is not (1 sconce was correct), then the drywaller just used a butter knife to cut holes. It will just be mudded. The paint pulling can't tell from the pic, but could range from no primer to applying tape too soon.

Pulled paint could be due to several reasons, like bad paint, poor prep, poor application, putting blue tape on too soon, leaving blue tape on too long or a combination of all of them.

I've done a lot of my own painting over the years and once had a what i think was a bad batch of SW paint. Went on normally and then started to form large bubbles. I managed to sand and touch things up and make it look ok, but only because it was a guest bedroom and no one else would notice the imperfections.

Sorry for bringing this post back to life: My wife and I just moved to a new house. We got some guys to do all the renovations and the finished product was good and fine. Installed new doors, new tiles, the works. But after a night out we noticed the light from the inside seeping very noticeably from the sides of the door. My wife has OCD and it irks her just by looking at the tiny cracks. A friend highly recommended to call this door installation company (He said they do it fast and clean) and get them to install a new door with a perfect fit from the panels. Question: Is it more expensive to do it yourself? What do I need to buy if I do it? or should I just call the door installation company? I'm not really good at housework. (I have a health condition. The bigger issues are the additional support that your home will need in order to remove that wall. That creation of the posts and beam is going to be far more destructive to a plastic floor than anything. You may need s reinforced post and new foundation at the point loads. There’s also HVAC and electrical in that wall that will need relocating. This isn’t a small job at all. It’s a very big job. You’d be better off to just remove all of the flooring even close to the wall, and relay it later after the Pros are done with all of the dust generating things, inclufing the new drywall ceiling and jackhammering the slab for the new foundation supports.

Thank you all! If we remove it (and we need to because I don't trust this situation), patch it, etc. does that mean that the entire kitchen and great room ceiling will have to be painted? Do you paint a textured ceiling or do they have to "texture" the entire two rooms again? This house is 20 years old and nothing has been maintained. I did like cat_ky idea of maybe putting a ceiling medallion. I wonder if they make square ones - I will look that up. She has to have an electrician come and check everything. The owner has weird electrical wiring ALL over this house especially the basement. None of the outlets in the basement work. He sheetrocked in the WATER SHUT OFF VALVE when he finished the basement himself... Oh my....

Thank you both! I love the butter knife comment. Thanks for injecting some humor. I’ll ask the builder about the paint. It was primered and painted 2 weeks ago. From your comments looks like it could be caused by a lot of things.
