Entry Closet turned Powder Bath! Awkward corner Decorating ideas?

We are almost done with turning our TINY entry closet into a powder bath. I’m still picking wallpaper, so ignore that in the photos. The corner to the right of the toilet is weird because the wall that connects to the door is curved. I wanted to put some kind of shelving there for height and to display things, but not sure it will work. Ideas?

Also - to save space we went with a wall mounted toilet. I am realizing once I put up the wallpaper (leaning towards moody/dark background similar to the one in the photo but not sold on florals) - that the flushing panel will stick out like a sore thumb! Are there mounts I can cover it with? Paint it?

Since you’re using wallpaper can you cover the panel with the paper as is done will outlet plates? The buttons would remain uncovered of course. Because the space is so small I wouldn’t put anything on the floor. Hang art over the toilet. Where will the TP holder be located? What about the spare roll?

This was fun! "The problem is you want too little. That's the hardest thing in the world to get" When you list your wants/dreams now, it should really include function, and not style for now. The style headache can wait for after the floorplan get's nailed down :) I've reconfigured it 3 ways. The bold lines show what you already have, the lighter lines are adds. I personally don't like to move things I don't HAVE to (like the pantry or the doors/windows/sink) b/c I'd rather spend my money elsewhere or keep it if I can. That said, you can assume all of those things are exactly as they are in your kitchen today (I didn't feel like drawing them all in, but you can assume they're in exactly the same place you have them now). I've put up a wall between the back door and the kitchen so you could create something like this if you wanted to: [Farmhouse Entry[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/farmhouse-entryway-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_741~s_2114) by Guilford Architects & Designers CK Architects It'll be easy with any of these configurations to have a designated area for garbage/compost. I haven't constricted the eating area. You'll note that I have extended the countertop all the way to the double doors of the sun room. I will say, you need to dream bigger. Stop restricting your kitchen to these walls b/c you're limiting yourself alot (which is probably what makes your want list so small). There are so many things you can do!! It's an exciting space. I was even thinking that it would be fun to get the kitchen table in the middle of the kitchen and then have a breakfast bar or a ton of storage along the 138.5 inch wall.......maybe even find an awesome buffet on craigslist and save yourself the cabinet cost. From what I can see, you already have a great table for it. Here's another pic I took with my displaced demilune. It's there because I moved it from a hallway nook to put up a xmas tree. That table is actually not all that awkward, but I agree that it might be tiresome when cleaning the floor. I would love to move all that stuff off the side of the frig. It's only cluttered during the school year, I swear! I'm leaning toward a magnetic chalkboard wall where that table is, and maybe a row of hooks on the wall parallel to the frig. I'm going to investigate exactly what it would take to just move the wall back to even with the laundry room door. Then, I could turn it into a small office area and reclaim my dining room!

Thanks everyone! The floors are actually a dark mahogany but I didn't have lights on in pics so the variation didn't come thru. We just bought the home in June, and did the floors throughout the 1st floor earlier in the month, so I plan on doing the stairs in a bit. We have a second "back" set of stairs that goes up to the bedrooms from the great room so we'll need to stain them at the same time. I'll defer to a professional to stain them though :) I think I might go toward a sitting area for the kids while they do shoes and backpack stuff in the am. Im looking for a bench like this. Any tips where to find one? I've tried Wayfair, Joss&Main, Birch,Ballard and even Amazon to no avail. Any ideas? I've messaged the IG poster but no answer. Thanks again!!

Rory you are thinking what I was thinking: I moved the shower on the South wall. I chose to put the sink on the closet wall because it does not need to be 2'6" (as it is the minimum a toilet requires). Doing so, you can have a door but it has to be only 2'0" wide (you could if you wish, keep the closet 2'0", have the sink 2'0" wide and have a door 2'2" wide). The first layout is with an enclosed toilet. I must say I like the second layout better because it is more open and you get a bigger shower. You have full length of glass for the shower and you can have towel bars handy every where you need them. Of course, you may not move the guest bathroom wall if you prefer. Your shower would be 3'7" wide instead of 4'0" but I would keep the toilet as is so you have a nice standard size 6'0" vanity. You could move the toilet forward in the guest bathroom and add that space to the toilet in your bathroom but personally I find 2'10' wide space for a toilet is comfortable. It's also nice that you have the view of the skylight when you rest in the tub :).

Is it high enough up that you could mount a shallow little white shelf immediately under it (or maybe just above it)? In other words, make it a feature--not a bug. I would choose a wallpaper that combines color with white in the pattern. That should help blend it all together.

A shelf 3-4 inches deep would give people a place to put down their phone and could hold a small vase with a flower.

I think the tiny shelf above could work I do not think wallpapering it will be agood idea but I also do not think much display is needed or even should be added to this very tiny space . I agree a freestanding toilet paper holder in thta odd corner by the toilet would be perfec t on e thhat holds an extra roll . I use disposible towels in PRs since it grosses me out to use a towel used by others .So ihave holder in lucite above my toilet so that could go on the little shelf .I might be tempted to do awallpaper with really huge flowers . Like this with white in it

No shelf in a place this small unless it is over the toilet and has a little ledge to keep cell phone from falling into toilet. Display nothing but some art on the wall - no knick knacks or dust able.

Our Powder also had an irregular shape. We cut a niche into the wall.

Misty, good call, thanks. Nancy, I think the shelf idea could work. I need a place for the disposable towels because I agree with Patricia! I always put a tray out in our primary when people were visiting.

What about a small shelf under the mirror instead? Don’t want it to look cheesy, but something minimal… maybe floating lucite?? Not sure how that is done. I think about people dripping water when they turn from the sink to grab the towels if they are above the toilet. Maybe not a big deal.

And Patricia - LOVE this bold paper idea but husband has ruled out anything floral, ha.

I really like the niche idea, had thought about doing that on the wall to the R of the sink. Not sure we have enough clearance for the depth I would need for a tray holding hand towels.

So really just need a place for: hand towels and a scent diffuser (vs a candle which might be a liability in such a small space!)

It is a big deal to reach with dripping hands from sink to toilet to grab a towel to dry hands. The towels need to be next to the sink.

@Jenna &Kevin - Here’s another niche.. This one has a bottom shelf which projects proud of the wall - certainly one could be customized to hold hand towels.
