Small Bathroom Modest Redesign

I am trying to make our modest 100+ year old, 1800 sq ft rural farmhouse function better for us. A large second-floor addition was added by a previous owner, measuring roughly 24' x 13'6", which includes a spacious main bedroom, a nook, and a bathroom accessed from the nook. The house has many small rooms, which we like, this makes the bedroom feel almost awkwardly large for the house.

We have two main issues with the space: we don’t have a designated closet, and the bathroom sink is a pinch point. It seems like one of us is always using it when the other needs it. The bathroom is 7' x 7', and the attached nook is 6'6" x 7'. It’s not worth it to us to do a complete renovation or move the plumbing.

I am debating two design options:

Option 1:

This option keeps the layout almost original. We would add a wall between the bedroom room and the nook, with a pocket door on the far side. This would create a split bathroom with a sink and a space for my makeup vanity, while leaving the original bathroom untouched. We would then install 24" deep, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes along the shared wall, giving us 11' of closet space and providing some acoustic insulation between the bedroom and the bathroom.

Option 2:

In this option, we would move the entry to the bathroom from the nook to the bedroom, using a pocket door. We would remove the vanity and install two pedestal sinks (my partner prefers pedestal sinks over vanities, and our medicine cabinet stores almost all of our items, so storage is not an issue). We would also add a shallow depth cabinet between the two sinks for more counter space. This would leave a minimum 36" walkway, which is an improvement since there is currently only 32" of standing space behind the vanity. We would then enclose the nook to create a walk-in closet, also with a pocket door, creating an L-shaped walk-in closet. However, my makeup vanity would remain in the bedroom.

We do not plan on selling anytime soon, so the design would be to fit our needs.

What are your thoughts? Is there something I am missing that would be easier and make this work?
