Ah......okay. He is going to literally supply the Goulds 1 hp pump (GT10). He is going to develop the well and hook up the pump to the well and make it ready for the irrigation company to just connect it to the sprinkler system. I don't know what flow rate to expect, but most folks that live in the area have no problems with water supply. Additionally, the person who gave me the price (comes recommended by the irrigation company) to install the pump and well said to me that it should be fine. Have you checked the pressure/bladder tank? A leak in the diaphragm will act like this.

So, let's see if I read this correctly. You have two wells that feed into a 3,000 gal. holding tank. One pump is not currently used. The pressure pump feeds the house and an irrigation system. You have an odor in the water and you don't use the second well, but have sufficient water. "does aerating my water into the holding tank really eliminate the sulfur smell in all our water?" - I doubt it. FWIW, changing the pressure tank got rid of the sulfer smell in my neighbor's water. It was the tank, or the bladder in it, that was the culprit. My suspicion is that the holding tank was put in to ensure enough water to meet the household/irrigation demand in times when the well couldn't meet the needed flow rate. (Are you sure the tank meets sanitary standards for household water?) That may be why you also have a new well. I would not have them on the same circuit or connected to the same plumbing system, especially if one were in questionable condition.

Urethane foam withstands moisture well. But it is not durable exposed to sunlight (ultraviolet). It can be painted with acrylic exterior paint.
