Bathroom - floor, countertop and backsplash
Comments (5)Armstrong and Mannington (there are more brands) make laminates are suitable for bathroom floors. We have an Armstrong 15" tile in our guest bath. It is warm to walk on compared to porcelain or stone. Backsplashes can be whatever you like. Distance to mirror is just a design thing. If you select tile, it will be determined by how many rows you want. Make a scale drawing to see how it will look. Placement of the mirror is important to determine what you want to see reflected. You don't have to have everything "match". -Babka (Edit) Be sure to check the specs to see which ones are suitable for bathrooms. Some are, some aren't. Comments (0)I am just about finished rebuilding our house that burned down 3 years ago. I have three of the bathrooms all in creamy Torreon stone on floors and in showers. There is a Nohe color design in two of the bathrooms and the master has the creamy torreon with a bronze fluer de lee liner going thru it. I cant decide if I shoud carry the designs that are in the shower, onto the backsplash of the sinks or keep them simple with the same stone? I am confused. I would love a really custom look, but I dont want the bathrooms to look to busy. Thanks so much...See MoreBathroom Vanity Backsplash Question
Comments (3)Hello CK- Although we frequently do use a 4-6 inch backsplash made out of matching material to the countertop, we have also used tile in a vertical position as a backsplash for a fresh, modern look. Even if you could purchase an identical 6 inch quartz piece, the vertical tile backsplash will add more texture and dimension for visual interest, or "excitement" as your contractor suggested, in a very neutral space. I attached some pictures of a tile that could be a good consideration for your project and some pictures of backsplashes we recently completed with tile and with a backsplash matching the countertop. This link is to a white tile that is a favorite of ours, called Cloe in white: https://www.bedrosians.com/en/product/detail/cloe-ceramic/?itemNo=DECCLOWHI28G&moq=true&gclid=CjwKCAjw0dKXBhBPEiwA2bmObale6YudyahRloMH3jTIT4_PaoN3OCCOUJyOwMIvAA9uDRoR5VP0ixoCaisQAvD_BwE...See MorePls help me plan this bathroom backsplash!
