Wow! if ratepayers in my area could chose utiity providers they would leave the big providers and go with the co-op. until recently I never realized other areas offered this option. I'd better revise my captive rate payers statements! keep in mind that free audits and reduced walk thru audits focus on what is refered to as low hanging fruit. to get more than generalized information, you should consider an independent professional. hearing/reading stories of these less than helpful audits is commonplace in the past year. resnet.us is a place to start. you'll want someone experienced in existing homes, and that will include duct testing & recommendations of how to seal leakage areas. referals to companies they work sucessfully with is always a plus. best of luck.

Trapped between porcelain carrara-look alike bathroom floor tile and beautiful grey-blue real carrara bricks wrapped in thassos mosaic on the back wall of the shower, surrounded by white subway - searching for the perfect vanity top and shower threshold. Afraid that another carrara will be too busy (impossible to match either floor or mosaic - current carrara slabs in our area are too choppy), so looking for white marble - thassos would have been perfect but has anyone seen it 1 1/4" thick? Only 3/4" in our area, afraid it would look "cheap" without ogee edge.... Look alike options?

Lori! Thank you! I have an Alabaster sample so will definitely take a re-look at it. Do you think that Alabaster or White Dove will lend too yellow though? I'm not against painting everything Extra White, but am afraid it will be too stark. For White Dove, I've heard that when it is color matched that they sometimes put too much yellow into it. Not sure if this is just made up or not, but it is a minor concern. I bought a bunch of samples from Samplize and plan to compare/contrast this weekend once they arrive. Thank you!

ya know, for something like that, I might float it. install some cleats on all three walls, and attach it to the underside of the slab. I think that would look better. or, make some corbels for it you could also do some iron legs (use Bona oil for your finish. beautiful piece of wood.
