Those items do not have to match, but they should correspond. And in this case I would not put ORB with reddish brown. If you're going to do two different metals that close to each other, they need to be different enough as to not look like you tried to match and failed. Either use the same metal or something strikingly different.

The details are difficult to see in the low resolution photo but if there is crown molding under the overhang it would be further evidence of the contractor’s ignorance. A crown molding belongs at the top of the cornice. What you need is a scaled section drawing so we can offer real solutions. That’s what should have been in the drawings in the first place and it’s the only way you will be able to fix this problem. If that’s too difficult take a better photo and note the dimensions on it. It shouldn’t be difficult to make this thing look better.

So I would absolutely keep the rug. I would do a cooler color on the wall like a gray green or gray blue. Get a runner to go between the doors that coordinates with your existing rug. I would add real baseboards but if you can’t just paint a 4” wide white band above what you have to fake it. Add a narrow console table with an open decorative front to hide the air conditioner. Paint the door to the house charcoal gray. I found these curtain panels that to me could mimic artwork to hide the vertical blinds. Then add a seating are there. Keep the bench and mirror as is. I don’t have photoshop so excuse my poor mockups lol.

Oh wow, it's really hidden! lol Your furniture plan for the porch sounds lovely and I imaging having the door tucked away adds a nice sense of privacy and security. What about removing/relocating the bushes in front of the porch? Removing them might make the space look larger and more welcoming where as now they seem to make the space small and dark. Maybe swap them for some flowerbeds. It doesn't sound like you'd want to take on awindow-to-door conversion but it would look really great if you did. You've got a lot of space from an exterior view and having the steps lead up to the door would look very welcoming. You'd also have to consider what's on the other side of the wall and how that would affect the layout of your porch furniture, too (I'm sure you've already thought of that though).
