I'm researching this but have not bought them. Cost wise (for my project) the blinds ran an additional 18% higher than without. I'd get your own cost, however, (with and without blinds) I am attempting to do some really tall door panels. I have learned that the "wand" option is only available up to a certain "weight". For taller heights (maybe in your case too) the external vertical "cord pull" is all that is available. gracie01 - thanks. Unfortunately, these are the very ones that I wanted to get but are no longer available in any of the sizes I need. It would seem they are not being restocked. I've sent 2 emails to the company asking if this product has been discontinued and have not received a response.

I have the HD top-down-bottom-up room darkening blinds and there is no light gap between the blinds and the head rail. Mine are around 9 years old, so you might want to go to a local HD showroom and look at the current designs to confirm there will be no gap.

Two possibilities come to mind. Measure that outer narrow ledge and have a pair of trim strips cut the width of the inside of the window and attach the trim board to the top of the window -- glue and/or thin galvanized finishing nails. Then you have a wider flat surface inside and underneath the top of the window to which you can attach your blinds -- with the added bonus that there will be a deeper air space between blinds and windows by adding the blinds to the outer edge, perhaps providing some insulation value. Are the SIDES flat so you could attach the brackets for the blinds on the two inside sides of the window?
