Hi Chris11895, I'm still having a hard time picturing the brown ticking, but since I don't know what the room looks like maybe that's my problem. Also, I'm no visionary like some of these wonderful people are! I've considered posting my own thread asking for help, but I'm usually just a lurker taking it all in! The reason I didn't end up buying the bedding is because I have 2 labs and I was afraid of the white/light background! I ended up choosing Restoration Hardwares Italian Antique floral bedding in Eucalyptus. The background is more khaki/beige with a very pretty blue so it felt safer! Maybe you should choose a wall color before you pick your rug? That way you could tie your rug color in with the walls & bedding? A lot of it just depends on what you like and what feel you're going after? I'm looking for peaceful. I want color, but in subtle ways and with lots of texture! Keep us posted, I'm anxious to see the results!

If the oak trim stays, the green on the wall will make the oak look even redder. Here is the quiet moments. Maybe install drawers under the window and eliminate the dresser. What is the purpose of the soffit. If it's not hiding something, maybe consider not building it. Consider refinishing the bedroom set. You'll never get to your inspiration picture with all that pine.

If you take out that one wall, there is still the issue of where to place the bed. Do you have measurements or a floor plan of the suite? I wonder...what if you actually extended the right-hand wall, and moved the doorway to the left? Then you could place the bed with the head against the wall. Or...how long is the wall between the bedroom door and the little niche? Is it long enough to be a doorway, and close up the existing doorway? From the way light falls, it looks like there is a door to another bedroom just to the left of the MBR door, is that right?

Here are my suggestions: I think the orientation of the rug is correct but could be pulled forward about 8-12 inches. I would honestly recommend painting the walls! I found the color Revere Pewter by Ben Moore to be a beautiful warm and cool neutral. A round mirror above the tall dresser to raise the height in order to match the height of the windows. Adding euro pillows will also help to add fullness to the bed. The way you dress a bed can really alter the way the room feels overall. Use blues or a light taupe, or a mixture of the two. Heres a great bench option! Maybe in a dusty blue velvet :) More info For drapery, choose a color that matches the wall color you end up with. It does not need to match exactly, but be in the same family whether its slightly lighter or darker. Artwork is personal! If you can find pieces you love, then two side by side above the bed would work best. Definitely make sure you take measurements of the width of the head board so you do not exceed that width when hanging the pieces, and leave a few inches between the two. Good luck! :)
