How to make my mid century hone flow/look authentic/modern resources

I purchased a 1959 almost untouched home in Las Vegas an am working ln the interior design. Inloce bright colord but also know that MCM incorporstes lots lf esrth tones and wood. can anyone please help me figure out make the kitchen to firéplsce area to living room flow, what I need to add or change to stay true to the era, whats working (color furiniture etc…and whats not) and help me make this home look like its from a scene in Casino (i love vintage Vegas)

my color schemes are all over the place. i have two fridges because i was thinking turning the kitchen red, i feel like there is so much potential but 1. im stuck 2. finding handymen/GC who who ynderstsnd preserving everything thats original is next to impossible and i am not DIY person 3. i dont want clutter but somehow thats translating from lots of colors

That is pretty, flyleft. I think the reasons it works are the very high ceiling, the continuing brick work on the wall surrounding the mantel, and the raised hearth. Although that vertical brick makes me wonder about maybe doing stone of some sort in a vertical brick pattern instead of the square limestone tiles. Too trendy perhaps?

Congrats on your new home. I think you've got a good start. I like your sofa - it looks comfy and is well proportioned in the room. A fun shag rug and some bolder, graphic pillows would be my suggestion -- or another colorful rug that might brighten things up. You could also add a starburst mirror on the wall next to the windows. I would put a plant behind the yellow chair and bring a throw pillow that coordinates with the ones on the sofa to tie it together. I would also put a long console table behind the sofa with a single lamp on it like the below photo: I'm intrigued by the concept of new build in MCM style. Are you in CA?

The look of the little table works with the space. A pair of comfortable wood chairs with separate cushions you can change out is all you really need unless you're spending a lot of time sitting in them -- on the computer or visiting with a friend ... then you might want chairs with more upholstery and more cushion comfort. If you're choosing the plain wood chairs, make sure the wood back is made of the wider flat boards that are curved ( rather than vertical round dowels ). Have had both and the flat curved boards will be a lot more comfortable. I like the high back for extended sitting and these kinds of seats are comfortable and easily covered when need to be changed. The brick appears to be hand made of natural clay. It has a nicely varied organic look, coloring and texture. Painting will hide the variation and will also require periodic repainting. Real brick is costly and coveted for its natural appearance and because it does not need painting and is low maintenance. It is an intact focal point for your mid century house. Painting it might give it a 'fresh up to date look' for a short while. But right now it looks good already, it is classic and is authentic for your period home. If necessary you can have it properly cleaned and repointed to keep it intact and make it look fresh again.

WHAT is it you want from us ??? I see abunch of ideas done in a mess , you have clutter becuase you hvae too much stuff you have no plan as to how the whole space has to work together so declutter big time remove all that stuff off the walls MCM is allbout simple good design not a bunch of stuff all over. I love MCM and when done right is awesome Check out MCM spaces on line to get a good feel for that style. Are planning on keeping the pink kitchen ? If so then IMO all appliances need to be white or stainless or refurbish the originals, to let the cabinets be the star. If you want to use the red then you need new cabinets IMHO. SO if you want help here we need to see the spaces empty except for the things you want to keep for sure .I agree all one flooring everywhere will aslo keep it simple Color for sure is part of MCM vibe but used properly and in small doses of pattern and color. This is my rrdone MCM kitchen the original was too small for my catering biz but my home is a 1956 MCM ranch so tried to honor it as much as possible while realizing it needed to function in the 21st century.And my LR this is just an example of simplicity but IMO not boring.

What I see is no color coherence. In the living room, an area with a white sofa and blue curtains. On the other end, you have a rainbow mural with no color that matches the curtains, a red chair with a pink curtain that goes with nothing. I love the pink kitchen, but I don't think red goes.

I'd start by inventorying the colors and features and deciding what you like. The rainbow mural doesn't strike me as being well-done. My house had a room with a paint scheme designed by a tween and executed by amateurs. The black wall with white molding could be painted in a less dramatic color scheme without destroying it.

Once you know what colors and features you want to keep and what needs to be replaced, you can move forward from there.

I'll start with the kitchen. Since you've just purchased a new red fridge, I did go with red kitchen cabinets that can be complimented with a black/charcoal countertop and chrome knobs and pulls. In your pictures there seemed to be a spot for the fridge on the wall behind the fridge in you picture, and you also seemed to have an adjoining dining area.

For the other areas, is the furniture shown yours? are you planning on keeping anything? It's confusing looking at your pictures are they all from the living room (ex. the ones with the fireplace and the ones with the wall design???). What is on the floor? I see tiles and carpet, do you have plans for replacing any of that?

If you can take your picture straight on each of the walls it would help. Start with that and then we'll take it from there if it's sufficient.
