Comments (1)I wonder if they will smell like One Shot, I doubt it. When One Shot was out they were still Colgate right? Now they are something else, maybe Phoenix or that might be Oxydol I can't remember....See MoreWould you adopt a dog in your 90's?
Comments (23)We were dogless for the first time in 40 years for 8 months since losing our last one. Recently got a puppy. I will be 65 in a few months. We have always had multiple dogs. I told DH this will be our last set of puppies. It's like raising a baby and I am in good health. Just don't have the stamina I once did. But it's a Rottie and they require a certain style of early upbringing that can sap the energy of a 20 year old. LOL However I can't imagine not having a dog. I think the big mistake people make is thinking the elderly need small dogs. Small dogs are high energy, an elder could trip over them and many demand constant attention. They also live longer lives than larger breeds. Some up to 20 years. There are several large breeds that are low energy/low maintenance. Big "lazy" LOL dogs with shorter lifespans. Mastiffs come to mind. Some Labs are sporting dogs by nature and others are content to lay at your feet. So yes I would get a dog if I was able to care for it's basic needs when I age. I would most likely not get a puppy but a dog that was perhaps a year or two old. Senior dogs come with too many health issues and expenses. I am not a fan of people re-homing senior dogs anyway. I don't support the notion that no kill is always the best choice. However I hold those that are willing to take them, in and care for them during their final years in high regard. I know someone who takes in elderly pit bulls. However she is still middle aged, single and has the time and money to care for them. We plan to age in place if possible. I will always want a "protection" dog living with me. If I become disabled in some way where having a dog would help I would seek out a service dog that could be my partner. Note I said service dog. Don't get me started on the emotional therapy pet nonsense....See MoreThe '90s called, and they're sending chairs.
Comments (25)We recently returned from my son's home in Copenhagen. When he & DIL moved there 7 yrs. ago they acquired some furnishings from what's essentially an upscale Craigslist. Among them were a beautifully patina'd big chestnut colored leather chair & ottoman. It has tufting and nailhead trim and is just gorgeous & comfortable. My DH loves that chair & sits in it all the time when we visit. On the flight home told me he wants something similar. Well, DS's home is stately with 12 ft. ceilings built in 1899. Our home is a typical 90's era New Englander. I was actually going to start a thread asking where one finds such a chair and what style would fit a home like ours with a mix of clean-lined traditional & Shaker furnishings. I could see one by our upright piano and fireplace for reading. i love the OP's & it's a style I'd gravitate to whether the gurus said it's in or out....See MoreModern Victorian in a 90s home.
Comments (20)tartanmeup- Yes, I did see it and I fell in love! I’ve been going back to it as I search for items to bring into the room and I’ve just been stumped because I haven’t felt like my room fits the mold to make it look right. That’s why I came here. Ha ha! I don’t know how far to go in either direction to make it work. Do I add Victorian pieces/styles at this point? Do I add modern? I’d also like a chandelier and there’s one I LOVE from Arhaus, though not liking the price 😣and not sure if it’s too much. We have the ceiling height for it......See MoreRelated Professionals
